How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection is through Written / OMR / Online Test (if conducted as part of the process). Ranked List is prepared in the order of merit. Shortlisted candidates undergo document verification and medical fitness examination. Ranked List remains in force for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years (or until a new list is published).

Exact exam pattern and syllabus will be published separately for each category. Candidates must confirm for the test through their OTR profile.

Why Does Kerala PSC Matter?

Kerala Public Service Commission is the constitutional body that conducts recruitment for most state government, public sector and local self-government posts in Kerala. It maintains ranked lists that feed vacancies across departments for years. A position secured through Kerala PSC is a permanent government job under state service rules with pension / NPS benefits, promotion channels and job security that few private roles match.

One downside candidates often note is the long gap between application, examination and final advice in some categories, especially when vacancies are anticipated.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

Compared with the earlier June 2026 gazette (Cat 39–72) that focused on Assistant Engineer, Medical Officer and Secretary posts, this July batch spreads across medical faculty, technical, clerical and special recruitment vacancies. Candidates preparing for Kerala PSC Junior Clerk or LDC-type exams will find the Apex Societies Junior Clerk useful; engineering graduates get limited but high-pay AE openings; medical postgraduates get NCA and regular faculty seats that are rare outside AIIMS-style drives.

Best fit: Candidates already registered on the Kerala PSC OTR portal who match a specific community / NCA / ST reservation or hold a specialised degree (Neurosurgery, GIS, Co-operation diploma). Also ideal for those targeting permanent state government service rather than contractual NHM or society posts.

Who should skip: Fresh graduates without the exact required diploma or community certificate, and candidates unwilling to wait 12–24 months for advice in anticipated categories. Pure exam-focused candidates may prefer the larger combined LDC / Junior Assistant drives that appear more frequently.

Practical tip: Apply only for the Category Numbers that exactly match your qualification and community. Submitting multiple mismatched applications wastes time and can lead to rejection at the confirmation stage. Keep your OTR profile photo and certificates ready before the last week of August.

What Documents Are Required?

  • SSLC / Higher Secondary / Degree / PG / Diploma certificates and mark lists
  • Community / Caste / NCA / Ex-Servicemen certificates (as applicable)
  • Experience certificates (for By-Transfer posts)
  • Aadhaar as ID proof in OTR profile
  • Recent photograph with name and date printed
  • Medical fitness certificate (when called)
  • Any other document specified in the individual category notification

Originals must be produced at document verification.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. Ranked List is published on the Kerala PSC website.
  2. Advice is issued against reported vacancies in order of rank and reservation rotation.
  3. Candidate receives appointment order from the concerned department/society.
  4. Document verification and medical examination are completed.
  5. Candidate joins the post and undergoes probation as per Kerala Service Rules.
  6. Confirmation in service follows successful completion of probation; promotion avenues open thereafter under departmental rules.
