CRPF Tradesmen 2026 height: Male General/OBC/EWS: 170 cm. Male SC/ST: 165 cm. Male from hilly areas (HP, Uttarakhand, J&K, NE states): 165 cm. Female General: 157 cm. Female SC/ST/hilly: 155 cm. Chest (males only): General/OBC 80 cm unexpanded, 85 cm expanded. SC/ST/hilly: 76 cm unexpanded, 81 cm expanded.
What is the height requirement for BSF Constable GD 2026?+
BSF Constable GD 2026: Male General/OBC: 170 cm, chest 80/85 cm. Male SC/ST: 162.5 cm, chest 76/81 cm. Male hilly: 165 cm, chest 78/83 cm. Female General: 157 cm. Female SC/ST/hilly: 155 cm. BMI and weight proportionate to height is also checked.
What is chest expansion requirement for paramilitary and police jobs?+
Minimum 5 cm chest expansion is mandatory for all male candidates in CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and Delhi Police. Measured at normal breathing (unexpanded) and full inhalation (expanded). The difference must be at least 5 cm. Measured at the level of the nipples using a measuring tape.
Does height relaxation apply for ST candidates in defence jobs?+
Yes, ST candidates get 5 cm height relaxation in most defence and paramilitary recruitments. CRPF, BSF, and CISF ST males need only 165 cm instead of 170 cm. BRO GREF also gives chest measurement relaxation. Always verify the specific notification as relaxations vary.
What is the weight requirement for police and defence jobs?+
No fixed weight — it must be proportionate to height and age using BMI. Normal BMI: 18.5 to 24.9. For 170 cm height, acceptable weight is approximately 53 to 72 kg. Candidates with BMI above 30 or below 17 may be rejected in medical examination.
What eyesight is required for defence and police jobs?+
Constable/non-combatant posts: Distant Vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, corrected or uncorrected depending on post. Army officers: 6/6 in better eye, 6/18 in worse eye without glasses. Colour blindness and squint disqualify for most defence posts.
