Of the 74 confirmed seats, 55 are Peon/Watchman in KSFE under Category No. 152/2026, and that category is limited to part-time employees. The open statewide technical seat is Draftsman Grade II in the Hydrographic Survey Wing (2). Teacher seats are NCA or ST-only. Forest Boat Driver by transfer has no number yet.

What Is the Pay Scale?

These notifications print the scale only. They do not print DA, HRA, city class or an in-hand figure, so no take-home estimate is given.

KSFE is a state government company. Its scale is printed in the same form as the government posts, but the appointment is to KSFE, not to a department cadre. Allowances follow the appointment order.

What Is the Application Fee?

No application fee is required. The line appears in the mode-of-application clause of these category notifications. There is no category-wise fee table and no refund clause, because no fee is charged.

How to Apply?

1. Register once under One Time Registration on the Kerala PSC website if the profile does not already exist. Use the existing User-ID if it does. Do not create a second profile.
2. Open the notification link for the Extraordinary Gazette dated 30 September 2026 and click Apply Now for each category number you are eligible for. The window runs until 04 November 2026, 12:00 midnight.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Sending one form for two category numbers. Category No. 157/2026 and 158/2026, and Category No. 153/2026 and 154/2026, each need their own application.
• Applying for Forest Boat Driver in both Thrissur and Kozhikode. The notification prohibits applying in more than one district.
• Uploading the KSFE service certificate after submission. The profile asks for the certificate details before submission.
• Letting the motor-boat licence or the police driving licence lapse before PET or the practical test. It must stay valid through every stage, including the last date.
• Skipping the profile confirmation after the exam calendar is published. The application is then rejected.

Suggested, not printed as a file-name rule: keep the service-certificate scan readable and under the size the profile accepts.

How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection is not one event, and it is not the same for every category.

1. Shortlist or probability list from admitted applications. Category No. 152/2026 says the number included will follow the number of admitted applications.
2. Written, OMR or online test if the Commission conducts one. Candidates must confirm the test in the profile.
3. Physical measurement, physical efficiency test, swimming test and practical test, as named in the PDF. That is Forest Boat Driver and Police Constable Driver.
4. Document verification of qualifications, age, community, licence and service. Originals are called when required.
5. Ranked list, then advice against existing vacancies and vacancies reported while the list is current.

No interview stage is mentioned in these notifications. A test is described as “if conducted”, so a candidate should not assume a fixed paper until the examination calendar is published.

NCC weightage on Category No. 153/2026 is 2% for A, 3% for B and 5% for C, under G.O.(Ms) No. 112/2007/HEdn dated 21 August 2007. Forest Boat Driver (Category No. 153/2026): height at least 168 cm (160 cm for SC/ST); chest at least 81 cm with 5 cm expansion, no chest relaxation for SC/ST. Women are not eligible. Must swim 50 metres within 2 minutes and float for 2 minutes. Qualify any 5 of these 8 events:

Police Constable Driver (Category No. 159/2026): men at least 168 cm, women at least 157 cm. Men need a chest of 81 cm with 5 cm expansion. Distant vision 6/6 in each eye and near vision 0.5 in each eye, without glasses. Colour blindness, night blindness and squint disqualify. Men qualify in any 5 of 8 events; women in any 5 of 7.

Practical tip: File Category No. 153/2026 and 154/2026 as two applications if you are eligible for both, and pick the district on each form with care. A by-transfer candidate need not choose the same district as the direct form, but cannot choose two districts in one notification.

What Happens After Selection?

1. The Commission publishes a ranked list. For district posts, the list is district-wise. For NCA, the list stays in force until the earmarked community vacancies are filled.
2. Advice is made against vacancies now in existence and vacancies reported while the list is current.
3. The appointing authority verifies originals. A wrong community or qualification claim can lead to rejection, debarment, or termination if already advised.
4. Probation is one year from joining on the KSFE Peon/Watchman notifications. Category No. 156/2026 provides two years on duty within three years. Category No. 151/2026 prescribes probation from the date of joining; the exact length is in Part II of that gazette entry.
5. Forest Boat Driver advice is district-bound. Transfer to another district is barred until five years of continuous service, under G.O.(Ms) No. 154/71/PD dated 27 May 1971.

Is this a permanent government job?

These are advertised as regular recruitment to Kerala Government Service, or to KSFE for Peon/Watchman. Appointments go on probation and are confirmed under the applicable rules.
