Quick Overview – JGRV Deoghar Home Guard 2026

What Posts Are Available? – JGRV Vacancy & Eligibility 2026

Urban seats are fewer and split between technical and non-technical work. Fifty per cent of both streams are reserved for women.

Vacancies are provisional. The notice says the numbers can be revised, reduced or increased without prior notice.

What Is the Age Limit?

CategoryMinimumMaximumCut-off date
All candidates named in the notice19 years40 years01 January 2026

The advertisement prints only this 19–40 band. It does not print extra years for SC, ST, OBC, BC or women. Do not assume a higher ceiling unless a later official circular says so.

Examples:

✅ A 39-year-old candidate born on 02 January 1986 — eligible (within the 40-year limit as on 01 January 2026).

❌ A 41-year-old candidate born on 01 January 1985 — not eligible (exceeds the maximum age by 1 year).

Use our Age Eligibility Calculator to check instantly.

What Is the Home Guard Duty Allowance in Deoghar?

JGRV Deoghar pays duty allowance only for days you are deployed, at rates fixed by the Government of Jharkhand. Advertisement No. 01/2026 is explicit: this is not a salaried government job and not a source of regular livelihood.

✅ Confirmed in the notice: volunteer force; allowance for working days actually assigned; no monthly pay scale printed.

❓ Not specified in Advt. 01/2026: the exact rupee rate, DA, HRA, NPS, pension or uniform grant.

After Resolution No. 4596 dated 10 August 2024, state practice and later district reporting cite about ₹1,088 per duty day. If you are called for 26 days, that is about ₹28,288 for that month. If you are not called, that month’s allowance can be zero.

Treat ₹1,088 as an indicative state rate, not a figure printed in this PDF. Confirm the current rate from the District Commandant, Deoghar, before you plan household income.

There is no 7th CPC Level, no HRA city class and no in-hand “salary slip” in this enrolment.

What Is the Application Fee?

CategoryFee
All candidates₹100

Pay only through the online payment gateway on recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in while submitting the form. The form is treated as submitted only after the fee is credited. The notice does not mention any refund or category-wise exemption.

How to Apply?

Applications are online only. Rural and Urban forms are separate. Submit one form from one block or one urban area.

  1. From 11 October 2026, open the Jharkhand recruitment portal for Deoghar Home Guard 2026.
  2. Choose Rural or Urban enrolment and the exact block / urban area that matches your residence certificate.
  3. Fill every field asked in the online form. Upload a recent colour photo and signature. Resize files first with our Photo & Signature Resizer.
  4. Upload self-attested certificates issued before the application date (residence, education, age proof, caste for physical-standard relaxation, sports, technical skill).
  5. Enter one ID: Aadhaar (preferred), voter ID, driving licence or PAN.
  6. Pay ₹100 on the same gateway and submit. Save the acknowledgement/receipt.

Suggested (not stated as a mandatory format in the notice): keep PDF uploads small and check the preview before final submission.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Applying from a neighbouring block because “Deoghar district is enough.” Rural enrolment is block-specific.
  2. Filing both Rural and Urban forms, or two blocks. Only one application is accepted; extras can be cancelled at any stage.
  3. Using a residence or caste certificate issued after the application date.
  4. Choosing the Urban Technical stream without a valid trade certificate, then failing the technical test.
  5. Paying the fee but not completing the final submission. The notice says the form is complete only after fee credit.

Why Does Deoghar Home Guard Matter?

Jharkhand Grih Raksha Vahini is the state Home Guard force under the Home Department of Jharkhand. In Deoghar, it works with the district police and civil administration on law-and-order support, festival crowd control (including the Shravani mela rush), disaster duty and local watch-and-ward. Enrolment is done district by district, which is why this page is a Jharkhand local drive, not an all-India police exam.

The force is a volunteer auxiliary. That is the honest limit. You are not joining Jharkhand Police as a Constable. Absorption into regular police, if it happens at all, is a separate recruitment. Duty days can be uneven outside peak festival or emergency months. Candidates still search “Deoghar Home Guard bharti” because the education bar is Class 7 or Matric, half the seats are for women, and the posting stays inside their own block or town.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

The closest tabs most Deoghar candidates have open are Jharkhand Police Constable / JSSC uniformed drives and Home Guard notices from neighbouring Dumka, Jamtara or Godda. Those police exams ask for a higher written score and usually a 10th or 12th pass. This JGRV window is local, physical-first and volunteer. It is not a substitute for a Constable badge.

Best fit: physically fit Deoghar residents who want auxiliary security work near home, can live with irregular call-outs, and are not treating this as their only income. Women from Senarayadhari, Margomunda and Mohanpur should look closely. Those blocks hold the thickest Rural lists and a 50% women’s share.

Skip this if you need a fixed monthly salary, NPS or a clear promotion ladder. Also skip if you live in Giridih, Dumka or another district and hoped “Jharkhand Home Guard” meant statewide posting. The residence rule will stop the form.

Practical tip: Train the 1-mile run to finish inside 5 minutes (men, Rural/Non-Technical) or 8 minutes (women) before the newspaper date drops. The run is the only event that can disqualify you outright. Jumps and shot put only grade the people who already cleared the clock.

What Documents Are Required for Jharkhand Govt Jobs?

Keep self-attested copies issued before the application date:

  • Residential certificate for the exact block (Rural) or urban area (Urban)
  • Class 7 or Matric certificate, as applicable
  • Age proof
  • Caste certificate if claiming ST/SC height or chest relaxation
  • Technical / trade certificate (Urban Technical)
  • National or State sports certificate, if claiming bonus marks
  • Aadhaar (preferred) or voter ID / driving licence / PAN
  • Recent colour photograph and signature
  • For Urban government employees: office-head NOC details as asked on the form
  • For divorced / deserted/widowed women: document that supports that status

Document alert: a certificate dated after you click submit can be treated as invalid. Rural applicants should match the block name on the residence certificate with the block they select on the portal, character for character.

Service Conditions

The notice describes Home Guards as volunteer members of a volunteer organisation. You may be called for duty when required. Allowance is for those working days only.

The Jharkhand Home Guards Act, 2005, as amended in 2016, separately provides that a Home Guard is required to serve for four years including training and may be called out up to 60 years of age. That statutory frame is not reprinted as a contract clause in Advt. 01/2026. Read the enrolment certificate you receive after Ranchi training for the exact terms that bind you.

False particulars can lead to cancellation at any stage and action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

What Happens After Selection?

  1. Your name appears on the merit list published through the NIC Deoghar channel after PET and the qualifying tests.
  2. You attend certificate verification with original residence, education, caste, sports and skill papers.
  3. You go through medical examination and police character verification.
  4. On a favourable report, Jharkhand Grih Raksha Vahini Headquarters, Ranchi issues orders for basic Home Guard training.
  5. After you complete training, the district issues a fresh enrolment certificate.
  6. You then wait to be called for duty in your block or urban area. Pay follows duty days, not a monthly payroll.

Based on similar district Home Guard cycles, expect several months between the form and the first training batch. There is no published bond amount in this advertisement.

FAQs – JGRV Home Guard 2026

What is the last date to apply for Deoghar Home Guard 2026?

26 October 2026, 5:00 PM. The portal opens on 11 October 2026. The notice allows later amendment of dates, but no extension is published as of 14 September 2026. Submit a day early if the gateway slows down on the last evening.

What is the age limit for JGRV Home Guard?

19 to 40 years as of 01 January 2026. The PDF does not print extra years for reserved categories. If you are 41 on that cut-off, do not assume a relaxation. Use the Age Eligibility Calculator before paying the fee.

Is there an exam for Deoghar Home Guard, or is it interview-based?

No interview is mentioned. You face a physical test, a qualifying Hindi writing paper, and a qualifying technical test if you pick the Urban Technical stream. Merit comes from PET and notified bonus marks, then document, medical and police checks.

What is the salary of a Home Guard in Deoghar?

There is no fixed monthly salary in this advertisement. You receive duty allowance only for days deployed. State practice after the August 2024 revision often cites about ₹1,088 per duty day. Confirm the live rate locally. No duty day means no allowance that day.

Can final-year students or result-awaited candidates apply for this enrolment?

No. Rural seats need a Class 7 pass certificate and Urban seats need a Matric certificate, both issued before the application date. The notice does not allow a result-awaited undertaking in place of the pass certificate.

Is Deoghar Home Guard a permanent government job?

No. This is volunteer enrolment in a volunteer force. You are not appointed as a regular Constable, and the notice says it is not a salaried livelihood. Four-year service liability under the State Home Guard Act is a separate statutory frame, not a pensionable police post.

Can candidates from other states apply for this recruitment?

No. Rural forms need a permanent resident certificate of that Deoghar block. Urban forms need ordinary residence in Deoghar or Madhupur town. A Ranchi, Dumka or Bihar certificate will not match the residence column.

Where will I be posted if I get selected?

Inside the same block (Rural) or the same urban area (Urban) you applied from. This is district enrolment, not a statewide cadre with a preference form. Expect festivals, traffic and assistance duty with the local police and administration.

Is there a physical test for Home Guard in Jharkhand?

Yes. Every candidate runs one mile and attempts the high jump, long jump and shot put. Missing the run cut-off means disqualification. Height and chest are measured first. Technical Urban candidates get slightly easier PET marks, not a waiver.

How do I check my Deoghar Home Guard application status?

Use the acknowledgement generated on recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in after fee payment. Exam dates come through newspapers. Merit and further lists are to be published on the NIC Deoghar website, not on a third-party result portal.

What are the disadvantages of Home Guard enrolment in Jharkhand?

The honest downside is income risk. Allowance follows call-out days, so a quiet month can pay nothing. There is no NPS, no HRA and no automatic promotion to Sub-Inspector. Treat it as community service with a daily allowance, not as a substitute for JSSC Constable.

Do Home Guard officers get pension in Jharkhand?

No pension is mentioned in Advertisement 01/2026. Enrolled members receive duty allowance, not a 7th CPC pay matrix. Do not compare this enrolment with a regular state police pension post.

Is Home Guard duty worth it for 10th pass candidates in small towns?

It can be, if you live in Deoghar or Madhupur, clear PET, and want local auxiliary work. It is a weak choice if you need a predictable monthly credit or a desk posting. Pair it with another skill or exam rather than freezing all plans on these 137 Urban seats.

Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?

  • You will be 19–40 years old as of 01 January 2026.
  • Your residence certificate matches the exact Deoghar block or Deoghar/Madhupur urban area on the form.
  • You hold Class 7 (Rural) or Matric (Urban), issued before you apply.
  • You accept volunteer enrolment with duty-day allowance, not a regular salary.
  • You can attempt the 1-mile run within the fail time limit printed above.
  • You will submit only one form and pay ₹100 on the official gateway.
