Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway (RRC/NR) has released the RRC NR Scouts & Guides Quota Notification 2026 (PDF) (Employment Notice No. RRC/NR-01/2026/S&G dated 4 November 2026) for recruitment against the Scouts and Guides Quota for the year 2026-27 in Level 1 and Level 2 of the Pay Matrix 7th CPC. The 27 posts are open to all communities with no reservation. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories receive age relaxation as admissible in general open market recruitment.
RRC NR Scouts Guides Bharti 2026 covers 27 posts in Northern Railway units. Specific post and place of posting will be decided by the Northern Railway administration at the time of offering appointment. Written examination and document verification will be held in Delhi only.

What Does Each Post Involve?
Specific post and place of posting will be decided by the Northern Railway administration at the time of offering appointment to the selected candidate. Ordinarily, selected candidates shall be employed on the Railway or Railway Establishment to which they are posted but shall have no claim as of right for transfer to another Railway or another Establishment. In the exigencies of service, it shall be open to the competent authority to transfer the railway servant to any other department or division/unit or railway or railway establishment over Northern Railway. Persons appointed against Scouts & Guides quota of the category of Clerks will be required to possess proficiency in typing within a period of two years from the date of appointment; their appointment will be provisional, subject to the prescribed typing qualification within the stipulated period. In case of non-acquisition of typing skill within the prescribed period, no additional time will be given, and services of such candidate(s) will be summarily terminated.

Payment mode: Online mode only (in favour of RRC/NR). RRC will not accept Examination fee in Cash/Cheque/Money order/IPO/Demand Draft/Central Recruitment/Fee Stamps, etc. RRC/NR is not responsible for incomplete or pending online examination fee transactions; in such case, the candidate needs to proceed with a fresh/new transaction.
Refund: Out of the fee of ₹500, an amount of ₹400 shall be refunded in due course, duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in the written examination/CBT. For the ₹250 category, the same (deducting bank charges as applicable) is refunded to those who actually appear in the written Examination. The refund is transferred back to the source from which it is received in the RRC Account.
‘Minority’ means Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) & Sikhs. Economically Backward Classes will mean those candidates whose family income is less than ₹50,000/- per annum. Income certificate must be as per the format given at Annexure-‘E’ issued by authorised officials.

The RRC NR Scouts & Guides online form 2026 is filled at www.rrcnr.org from 6 November 2026 to 6 December 2026.
- Open the RRC NR official website (opens on 6 November 2026).
- Click in the BOX given at the end of the notification undertaking by the candidate that I have read carefully the notification with instructions given above to be complied with during the recruitment process.
- Click on APPLY ONLINE – LOGIN BOX will appear with two options, i.e. Login for Already Registered Candidates & for New Registrations.
- Complete the Online application from Part I (Registration Form) to Part IV (Uploading Documents photo, Sign & Thumb Impression, etc.). Candidate Dashboard will appear in RED color which will turn into GREEN step wise completion. Candidate may complete in one go OR in parts but must be completed in all respects by the last date given. Follow the instructions generated by the software at every step.
- Pay the examination fee online (Part III / Part V).

How Are Candidates Selected?
Candidates who applied in response to the notification issued and are found eligible after scrutiny will be called for a written examination, i.e Computer Based Test/Tablet Based Test. The candidates qualified in the written test/Computer Based Test/Tablet Based Test will have to undergo the Document Verification. Panel will be formed as per merit Position of successful candidates in both written examination and marks of the certificate.
- Written Test/CBT/TBT Test (Duration of Written Test- 60 Minutes): 60 Marks. CBT test will consist of 40 objective questions (40 marks) & 1 essay-type question (20 marks) relating to the Scouts & Guides organisation and its activities and General knowledge for Level-2 & Level-1. The syllabus for this will be as per Annexure-II.
- Marks on Certificates: 40 Marks.
- Document Verification for candidates equal to 5 times the total number of notified vacancies based on the merit of the candidates in the exam.
- Medical Examination: candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass the requisite medical fitness standards prescribed for the post to be identified by the Northern Railway Administration.
