GATE 2027 registration is already open at IIT Madras. Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), a Miniratna-I and Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has used that window to issue Advt. No. CC/26/2026 dated 16 September 2026.
This cycle is not an immediate apply-and-submit drive. GRID-INDIA will hire 52 Executive Trainees in Electrical and Computer Science only through a valid GATE 2027 score. The company’s own form will open after GATE 2027 results, expected on 19 March 2027.
Candidates who pick the wrong GATE paper now cannot correct that later. Electrical posts need the EE paper. Computer Science posts need the CS paper. Older GATE scores are not valid.
GRID-INDIA runs the National Load Despatch Centre and the five Regional Load Despatch Centres. Selected candidates join the E2 IDA scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000. The same scale applies during the one-year on-the-job training and after regularisation.

The honest limit is scale. Fifty-two seats and an all-India plus overseas posting clause, with no transfer request in the first five years, will not suit anyone who needs a fixed home-state desk.
