What Is the Junior Engineer Salary in Central Government?

All notified posts sit in Pay Level-6: ₹35,400–₹1,12,400 under the 7th Central Pay Commission, plus DA, HRA and Transport Allowance of the allotted department.

Figures are approximate (basic ₹35,400 + current DA band + city-class HRA, minus NPS of 10% of basic + DA). They are not an official salary slip. Actual take-home depends on posting city, DA notification and departmental allowances.

What Is the Application Fee?

Pay only through BHIM UPI, net banking, or Visa / Mastercard / Maestro / RuPay debit card on the SSC portal. The fee, once paid, is not refunded. The application can be submitted till 22 September 2026 (11:00 PM); fee can be paid till 23 September 2026 (11:00 PM).

How to Apply?

Applications are accepted only on ssc.gov.in or the mySSC mobile app. Old One-Time Registration created on ssc.nic.in does not work.

Selection is a multi-stage process. Marks in Paper-I only open the gate to Paper-II. Appointment follows Paper-II merit, document verification and, for BRO, physical and medical clearance.

Physical Standards (BRO posts)

BRO / GREF posts require a Physical Efficiency Test and medical fitness after the written result. Only male candidates are eligible.

When the preference window opens, rank CPWD/CWC/MES above BRO only if you will actually accept field postings those departments offer.
