What Is the Junior Court Assistant Salary in Delhi?

The advertisement prints Level-6 of the Pay Matrix and an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 plus allowances. It does not print DA, HRA, transport allowance or an in-hand figure.

Illustrative estimate for a New Delhi posting, not an official salary slip. Delhi is an X-class city (30% HRA) and a higher-TPTA city. DA used here is 60%; the rate was last verified on 28 September 2026. A later notified revision will change the figure.

ComponentIndicative monthly figure
Basic pay₹35,400
DA at 60%₹21,240
HRA at 30% (Delhi)₹10,620
Transport allowance (Level 3–8, higher TPTA) ₹7,200 + DA on TA₹11,520

Use our 7th CPC Salary Calculator for an indicative estimate. The official pay on the appointment order prevails.

What Is the Application Fee?

The fee is non-refundable. It is accepted only online through the payment gateway provided by UCO Bank. No postal form and no other mode of payment.

CategoryFee
General / Unreserved₹1,500 + bank charges
SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / Ex-Servicemen / Physically Challenged₹750 + bank charges

An answer-key objection, if filed, costs ₹100 per objection. That fee is refunded if the objection is found valid. It is separate from the application fee.

How to Apply?

  1. From 07 October 2026, open the Supreme Court of India recruitment page and use the Junior Court Assistant registration link. The advertisement says the link will be provided on www.sci.gov.in. It is not a separate portal named in the notice.
  2. Fill the online form. Name, father’s name, mother’s name and date of birth must match the Class X certificate. A changed name needs a Gazette notification.
  3. Upload a recent photograph, signature, Class X, Class XII and graduation certificates, and the caste or disability certificate if you are claiming that category. Use our Photo & Signature Resizer if the portal rejects the file size. The advertisement does not print pixel dimensions.
  4. Pay ₹1,500 or ₹750, plus bank charges, on the UCO Bank gateway. The fee, once paid, is not refunded.
  5. Submit the undertaking that you have read the advertisement. Preview the form and save the Application Number. Do not post the printout to the Registry.
  6. Download the admit card from www.sci.gov.in when it is issued. Admit cards are not sent by post.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Treating 28 October 2026 as a date you can use until midnight. The form closes at 11:55 PM.
  • Sending a printed application. The Registry will not accept a postal form.
  • Assuming service in another department, PSU or nationalised bank buys age relaxation. The advertisement says it does not.
  • Leaving Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and the 1961 service rules unread. Those two blocks are 20 of the 100 objective questions.
  • Filing a second form and expecting the first to stay live. Only the latest Application Number is considered, and the earlier fee is not transferred.

How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection has four tests. Clearing an earlier stage does not appoint you. Document verification can cancel candidature at any point if a certificate does not match.

StageDurationMax marksMinimum to qualify
Objective Type Test (100 MCQs)1½ hours10050
Typing Speed Test on computer, English, 35 wpm10 minutes5025
Written test (descriptive), English2 hours10050
InterviewNot printed2513

Mistakes allowed on the typing test: 3% of the total words typed. A wrong word or figure is a full mistake. Wrong case, or a punctuation mark omitted, added or substituted, is a half mistake.

Objective paper split, as printed: General English including comprehension 20; General Aptitude 15; General Knowledge 15; provisions relating to the Judiciary in the Constitution of India 15; Supreme Court Rules, 2013, 10; Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961, 10; Computer Knowledge 15.

Negative marking is 0.25 for each wrong objective answer. If a large number score 50 or more, the Registry shortlists at 1:10 of the tentative vacancies for typing and the descriptive paper. Descriptive scripts are evaluated only for candidates who qualify the typing test. Interview shortlisting is at 1:3 of those who qualify all three tests.

The Objective Type Test is in cities listed in Annexure-A. You choose a preference order. The Registry may shift you to another city. Typing and the descriptive test are in Delhi/NCR. The interview is online or in person in Delhi, as the Competent Authority directs.

Answer keys go up on 22 November 2026. Objections run from 22 November 2026 to 23 November 2026, 11:55 PM, online only, at ₹100 per objection. A valid objection gets that fee back. The competent authority’s decision on the keys is final.

Persons with disabilities get concessions under Office Memorandum No. F.No.P-13013/75/2023-Policy-DD-III dated 01 August 2025. A scribe needs Annexure-I or Annexure-IA, and the scribe’s qualification must be two to three academic years below the minimum for this examination. An own scribe cannot be a candidate in the same examination, and cannot scribe for more than one candidate.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

A graduate comparing this with a High Court assistant notification should read the scheme, not the vacancy headline. This advertisement is a four-stage court-registry selection: a 100-mark objective paper that includes Supreme Court Rules, a 10-minute typing test that gates the descriptive paper, and an interview of 25 marks. Pay printed here is Level-6, starting at a basic ₹35,400, in the Registry at New Delhi.

Best fit: a graduate who already types at 35 wpm in English, can sit a rules-heavy objective paper, and can travel to Delhi/NCR for the later stages without expecting TA/DA.

Skip this one if you need a home-state posting, or you cannot clear 35 wpm with the printed mistake limit of 3%. Staff of other government offices also get no age concession here, even if their own department would have given one.

Practical tip: 20 of the 100 objective questions are on Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and the 1961 Officers and Servants Rules. Download those texts from the Court website before the 20 November paper, and keep the Application Number. Admit cards are not posted.

What Documents Are Required?

Upload with the form:

  • Recent photograph and signature
  • Class X certificate (name and date of birth are taken from this)
  • Class XII certificate
  • Graduation certificate
  • Caste or community certificate, if claiming a reserved category
  • Disability certificate, if applicable
  • Gazette notification, if the name has changed

At document verification, serving Central or State government, nationalised bank and PSU employees must produce a No Objection Certificate. It is not required on the application date. If you take up a job after applying, email the Branch Officer, Recruitment Cell, at recruitment.cell@sci.nic.in. The advertisement says failure to do so will draw an adverse inference.

PwBD candidates who want a scribe must carry Annexure-I or Annexure-IA and the supporting medical certificate to the examination. Failure to produce them withdraws the scribe facility and can cancel candidature.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. Candidates who qualify the objective test, typing test, descriptive test and interview are considered for the panel. The interview qualifying mark is 13 out of 25.
  2. Certificates are verified. A mismatch in qualification, category or name cancels candidature without notice, including after the tests.
  3. Appointment is from the panel against vacancies that the Registry may still change. The advertisement does not print a joining date or a training calendar.
  4. The misconduct clause refers to the period of probation and to confirmation. The advertisement does not print the probation length, bond, or pension scheme.

The posting location in this advertisement is the Registry at New Delhi. A transfer policy is not printed.

Contact & Helpline

The advertisement is signed by Mahabir Singh, Deputy Registrar (Recruitment). The only email printed is recruitment.cell@sci.nic.in, for candidates who take up employment after applying. No recruitment phone number or helpline timing is printed.

Updates, admit cards, and later-stage dates are to be taken from the Supreme Court recruitments page. Disputes lie in Delhi.

FAQs – Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant 2026

What is the last date to apply for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant 2026?

28 October 2026, 11:55 PM. Registration itself opens on 07 October 2026. No extension has been announced as of 02 October 2026. The form is online only.

What is the age limit for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant?

18 to 30 years as of 01 September 2026. SC, ST, OBC-NCL, Physically Challenged, and Ex-Servicemen get the usual Government of India relaxation. The advertisement does not print those extra years. Freedom-fighter dependants get up to 5 years. Registry departmental candidates have no upper age limit.

Is there an exam for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant, or is it interview-based?

Yes, there is an exam. An objective paper of 100 marks, a 10-minute typing test, and a descriptive paper in English come before a 25-mark interview. Each stage has a minimum qualifying mark. Negative marking on the objective paper is 0.25.

What is the salary of Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant?

Level-6, initial basic ₹35,400 plus allowances, as printed. An illustrative Delhi in-hand figure, using 60% DA and 30% HRA, is about ₹72,000–₹73,000 before tax. That estimate is not in the advertisement.

Can final-year students apply for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant 2026?

The degree must be held as on 01 September 2026. The advertisement does not create a result-awaited window. A candidate whose bachelor’s degree was not complete on that date should not assume eligibility.

Is Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant a permanent government job?

It is advertised as a regular Group B Non-Gazetted post in the Registry. The advertisement mentions probation and confirmation, but it does not use the phrase “permanent government job” and does not print the probation length or the pension scheme.

Can candidates from other states apply for Supreme Court recruitment?

Yes. The advertisement invites Indian citizens. It does not mention a domicile condition. Later stages, typing and the descriptive paper, are held in Delhi/NCR.

Where will I be posted if I get selected for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant?

At the Registry of the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, as per the wording of this advertisement. A transfer or circuit posting rule is not printed. No TA/DA is paid for the tests or the interview.

Is there negative marking in this recruitment?

Yes. 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer in the Objective Type Test. The typing, descriptive and interview stages do not mention negative marking.

What should I know before applying?

The honest downside is the travel and the fee. Typing and the descriptive paper are only in Delhi/NCR, with no TA/DA. The fee is not refunded, the form cannot be edited, and the 250 vacancies are tentative. A low typing speed keeps the descriptive script unevaluated.

Before You Apply: Quick Self-Check
