What Posts Are Available?

Hospitality Monitor is the larger intake (22, including 4 OBC backlog). Tourism Monitor is a 6-seat specialist intake for tour-operations profiles. Category-wise seat numbers beyond the percentages and the 4 OBC backlog are not printed as a full roster table. Vacancies, including the reserve panel, may rise or fall with IRCTC’s requirement.

Your qualifying-exam marks do not create a written-exam shortlist. There is no written test. Attendance, documents and interview performance decide who is offered a contract.

No written exam — interview merit decides Shortlisting is based on credentials and performance in the personal interview. An equal reserve panel (22 hospitality names and 6 tourism names) will be kept. Offer of engagement follows merit and vacancy, subject to antecedent verification and medical fitness.

What Is the Hospitality Monitor Salary in South Central Zone?

Both posts pay consolidated CTC, not 7th CPC matrix pay. Treat the figures below as contractual remuneration.

ComponentHospitality MonitorTourism Monitor
Monthly CTC₹30,000 (incl. statutory deductions)₹30,000 or ₹35,000 (incl. statutory deductions), by qualification/experience
On-board Daily Allowance₹350/day (100% if duty over 12 hours; 70% for 6–12 hours; 30% if under 6 hours)Same

Claim + proof: CTC is quoted from the 16 September 2026 notices (₹30,000 hospitality; ₹30,000 / ₹35,000 tourism). In-hand is an indicative split because the PDFs do not print a payslip breakup of basic, employer PF and employee PF. On-board DA, lodging and NHA are extra and paid only when the stated duty conditions are met.

There is no pension, no 7th CPC increment ladder and no HRA city-class table in these contracts. Medical cover is reimbursement, not CGHS.

What Is the Application Fee?

No application fee is prescribed in either notice. Do not pay anyone who claims to “register” you for this walk-in.

Selected candidates will later furnish a ₹25,000 security deposit by Demand Draft. That is not an application fee.

How to Attend the Walk-in?

There is no recruitment portal. Selection starts when you reach the printed venue with a completed form.

  1. Download the correct notice. Hospitality and Tourism are separate PDFs with separate application proformas. Use the IRCTC SCZ Hospitality Monitor 16 September 2026 PDF or the IRCTC SCZ Tourism Monitor 16 September 2026 PDF.
  2. Fill in every field: category, Aadhaar, DOB and age as on 01 September 2026, education from Class 10 to PG, experience, languages, addresses and declaration.
  3. Attach self-attested copies of education certificates and marksheets, experience proof (if claimed), Class 10 DOB proof, and category certificate. OBC-NCL must be in the Government of India format.

  5. Carry the form, originals, one attested set and two passport-size photographs to the venue on the date that matches your post.
  6. Report between 10:30 AM–5:30 PM. No TA/DA is paid. If the interview spills over, you arrange your own stay and food.

Tourism candidates may attend only one of the two cities. Serving employees should keep the NOC ready for the interview table, not as a pre-registration document.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Carrying the Hospitality form to a Tourism date (or the reverse). The notices are independently numbered, and the forms are not interchangeable.
  • Treating an IHM campus as the venue. These two PDFs name the IRCTC Regional Office, NBCC Imperia, Bhubaneswar and Oxford Plaza, Secunderabad.
  • Claiming the 28–35 hospitality age band without experience letters that show post-qualification work.
  • Submitting an old state-format OBC certificate instead of the Government of India OBC-NCL format asked in the form.
  • Assuming interview merit equals joining. Medical fitness and antecedent verification still follow.

How Are Hospitality and Tourism Monitors Selected?

No written paper is mentioned in either notice.

  1. Form + document verification at the venue — filled proforma, originals, attested set, two photographs.
  2. Personal interview — credentials and interview performance.
  3. Merit list + reserve panel — 22 hospitality offers with 22 reserve names; 6 tourism offers with 6 reserve names.
  4. Antecedent verification — engagement stays provisional until this is satisfactory.
  5. Pre-employment medical examination — continuation also depends on remaining medically fit (Hospitality notice).
  6. Offer of engagement — subject to vacancy at the time of issue.

Unsatisfactory performance: Hospitality contract may be ended with 15 days’ notice; Tourism contract may be ended without notice. Either side may also end the contract with one month’s notice.

Why Does IRCTC South Central Zone Matter?

IRCTC runs catering on trains and stations and packages rail tourism, including Bharat Gaurav rakes. South Central Zone works from Secunderabad and a Regional Office at Bhubaneswar, covering Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. These monitor roles sit on the operations floor: food quality on Vande Bharat and base kitchens, or tour-package and ticketing support.

Candidates search IRCTC jobs because the brand is visible on every reserved ticket and the work is field-heavy rather than file-heavy. Search interest also follows “IRCTC career”, “railway catering jobs” and “Bharat Gaurav” staffing. The honest downside is the employment type: this is a two- or three-year contract with a security deposit, train movement across India, and an explicit bar on claiming regular service. Read more on the IRCTC organisation page, railways sector hub and Telangana jobs.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

The closest tab most candidates already have open is another IRCTC zonal Hospitality Monitor or Tourism Monitor walk-in (South Zone Chennai, East Zone, North Zone), not an IBPS or SSC notification. Those drives use the same interview-plus-medical pattern and a similar ₹30,000-class CTC. What changes here is geography (SCZ states plus all-India train duty) and the split dates at Bhubaneswar versus Secunderabad. Hotel operations jobs in a city unit give a night-audit routine; this role gives pantry audits at speed on moving rakes.

Best fit: NCHMCT / SIHM / CIHM diploma-to-degree holders who already accept early boards, complaint handling and week-end train duty, and tourism graduates with real tour-operator or travel-agency letters who want Bharat Gaurav and package-desk exposure.

Skip this if you need a desk-only posting, NPS/pension, or a promotion roster. The notices say engagement will not confer any claim to regular employment. If you cannot stay out of station on trains, the daily-allowance line will not compensate for the roster.

Practical tip: Print the form from your PDF the night before, put experience letters on top if you are over 28 (Hospitality) or claiming Tourism CTC at ₹35,000, and reach NBCC Imperia or Oxford Plaza with originals. Suggested (not stated in the notification): keep a spare photocopy set and a filled spare form in case a page is rejected at the desk.

What Documents Are Required?

  • Filled application proforma from the relevant official PDF
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • Class 10 certificate (date of birth)
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate
  • Degree/diploma / PG certificates and marksheets matching the post
  • Experience certificates (mandatory where the age band or Tourism route requires them)
  • Aadhaar and a valid photo ID
  • Category certificate: SC / ST / OBC-NCL (GoI format) / EWS / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen, as applicable
  • NOC or proof of proper-channel application if you are a serving government / PSU employee
  • After selection: Demand Draft of ₹25,000 towards security deposit, as directed in the offer

Document alert: OBC-NCL must follow the Government of India format named in the form. Hospitality candidates aged 28–35 without dated experience letters will not match the printed age-experience grid. Tourism applicants should carry tour-operation or travel-agency proof that covers the 1-year or 2-year route they are using.

Service Conditions

Engagement is purely on a fixed-term/contractual basis. Hospitality: 2 years initially, extendable by 1 year on requirement and performance. Tourism: 3 years. No claim to regular or permanent employment in IRCTC.

Selected candidates furnish ₹25,000 by Demand Draft. Hospitality staff must complete a minimum one-year service period or the deposit is liable to be forfeited. The contract may be ended with one month’s notice by either side. False information can end the contract without notice or compensation.

Posting may be in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha or Chhattisgarh, or anywhere in India. Hospitality duty includes movement on trains all over India. Knowledge of MS Office and report writing is desirable. Only Indian nationals are eligible. Vacancies, including the reserve panel, may increase or decrease.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. Interview merit and reserve-panel names are drawn from credentials plus personal interview, against the 22 + 6 vacancies then required.
  2. Antecedent verification starts; the contract stays provisional until it is cleared.
  3. You undergo the pre-employment medical examination prescribed for the post. Unfit candidates are not engaged.
  4. Offer of engagement is issued in merit order. You submit the ₹25,000 Demand Draft security deposit as instructed.
  5. Joining is on the stated date at the allotted unit (mobile catering, base/cluster kitchen, or tourism/Bharat Gaurav desk). Hospitality Monitors should expect on-board duty; Tourism Monitors should expect package, ticketing and rake-manning work.
  6. Continuation depends on performance and medical fitness. Hospitality may get a one-year extension after two years; Tourism runs for three years. There is no printed absorption channel in these notices. Similar IRCTC contract cycles often take about 4–8 weeks from walk-in to joining. That is a working estimate, not a date printed in the PDF.

FAQs – IRCTC Hospitality & Tourism Monitor 2026

What is the last date to apply for IRCTC Hospitality Monitor 2026?

There is no online last date. You must attend the walk-in on the date printed for your post: 05 or 08 October 2026 for Hospitality Monitors, and 06 or 09 October 2026 for Tourism Monitors. Late walk-ins after those dates are not provided for in the notices.

What is the age limit for IRCTC Hospitality Monitor?

35 years for UR as of 01 September 2026. Hospitality adds experience bands: no experience up to 28, one year till 30, two years till 35. OBC gets 3 extra years, SC/ST 5, PwBD 10. Tourism uses the same 35-year UR ceiling with those relaxations.

Is there an exam for IRCTC Hospitality Monitor, or is it interview-based?

No exam. Selection is walk-in document check plus personal interview, then medical fitness and antecedent verification. Offers are based on merit and vacancy. A reserve panel of equal size is also drawn.

What is the salary of IRCTC Hospitality Monitor?

CTC ₹30,000 a month for Hospitality Monitors, inclusive of statutory deductions. Tourism Monitors get ₹30,000 or ₹35,000 CTC by qualification and experience. On-board DA is ₹350 a day on the printed hourly slabs, plus ₹240 lodging when a night halt is involved.

Can final-year students or result-awaited candidates apply for IRCTC 2026?

No clear permission is printed. Safer to treat the degree or diploma as required on the walk-in date, with certificates and marksheets in hand. The form asks for qualification details and proof, not a “result awaited” option.

Is IRCTC Hospitality Monitor a permanent government job?

No. Both notices say engagement is purely contractual/fixed-term and will not entitle any claim to regular or permanent employment. Hospitality runs 2 years plus a possible 1-year extension. Tourism runs for 3 years.

Can candidates from other states apply for IRCTC recruitment?

Yes. Only Indian nationality is required. There is no SCZ domicile lock in these PDFs. Posting can still be anywhere in India, including the five named SCZ states.

Where will I be posted if I get selected for IRCTC Hospitality Monitor?

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha or Chhattisgarh in the first instance, or anywhere in India at IRCTC’s discretion. Hospitality work includes movement on trains across the country, not only a zonal office desk.

Is there a bond if I leave the IRCTC contract early?

Yes, in practical terms. Selected candidates give a ₹25,000 Demand Draft security deposit. Hospitality staff must complete at least one year or that amount is liable to be forfeited. Either side may also end the contract with one month’s notice.

Do I need GATE or an IBPS score for these IRCTC monitor posts?

No. GATE and IBPS are not part of this process. These are walk-in interview contracts for hospitality and tourism qualifications, not a PSU GATE recruitment or a bank specialist-officer exam.

What are the disadvantages of an IRCTC Hospitality Monitor contract?

Worth knowing before you apply: the job is fixed-term, train-heavy and medically gated, with a deposit at stake in the first year. There is no printed path to absorption. If you want a station-only roster or a pensionable cadre, this notice is the wrong fit.

How much do railway catering hospitality staff earn on contract?

On this SCZ notice, CTC starts at ₹30,000 a month plus on-board daily allowance of ₹350 when you are on train duty. That is contract pay, not Level-6 or Level-7 matrix pay. Take-home depends on statutory deductions and how many days you actually travel.

Is a hospitality job in a railway PSU better than a hotel operations job?

It depends on what you want. Hotel units give a fixed property and departmental roster. IRCTC monitors audit food and service on moving trains and tourist rakes. Pay in this notice is a flat CTC. Career permanence is weaker than a regular hotel HR grade or a regular Railway Board appointment.

Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?

  • You meet the age and educational criteria as on 01 September 2026, including Hospitality experience bands if you are over 28.
  • You are comfortable with Fixed Term Employment (2 years + possible 1 year for Hospitality; 3 years for Tourism) and no regular-service claim.
  • You can arrange all required documents and certificates, including GoI-format OBC-NCL if applicable, before the walk-in.
  • You are prepared for the most demanding stage: personal interview plus medical fitness, with train movement after joining.
  • You understand the posting pattern (SCZ states and all-India train duty) and will serve at the allotted unit.
