Why Does DHS Godda Matter?
District Health Society, Godda implements National Health Mission programmes across rural and urban health facilities in the district. It runs SNCU, RNTCP, NPHCE, NMHP, IDSP and urban primary health centres that serve a largely tribal and rural population.
Contractual staff form the backbone of these programmes. While the roles offer direct public-health exposure and local posting, they remain fixed-term engagements without permanent absorption or pension benefits.
The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take
Compared with other district-level NHM drives in Jharkhand (Lohardaga, Dumka or Deoghar), Godda’s 64-post package is moderately sized but covers a wider mix of clinical, paramedical and counselling roles. Neighbouring districts have recently filled similar posts through offline or limited online modes; Godda’s fully online process on the state portal is an advantage for candidates outside the district.
Best fit: Local nursing and paramedical graduates already registered with Jharkhand councils who want district-level public-health experience without relocating to Ranchi or other cities.
Who should skip: Candidates seeking permanent government jobs or those unwilling to accept year-to-year contract renewal. Higher-honorarium posts such as Epidemiologist and Clinical Psychologist attract stronger competition and demand specialised postgraduate qualifications.
Practical tip: Prepare a complete set of experience certificates with salary proof and bank statements before applying — incomplete experience documents are the most common reason for rejection at the scrutiny stage.
What Documents Are Required?
- Matriculation certificate (for date of birth)
- Educational mark sheets and certificates
- Council registration certificates (Nursing / Pharmacy / Paramedical / RCI as applicable)
- Experience certificates with salary payment proof and bank statement
- Caste / EWS / PwD certificate (if claiming reservation)
- Domicile/residence certificate (for reservation preference)
- Driving licence (for STLS, MTS, PPM Coordinator)
- Computer proficiency certificate (where required)
- Aadhaar card
- Recent passport-size photograph and signature
What Happens After Selection?
- Merit list is published on godda.nic.in and at the Civil Surgeon’s office.
- Selected candidates receive an offer letter and are called for document verification.
- After successful verification, a one-year contractual engagement order is issued.
- Candidates join the allotted health facility (SNCU, UPHC, RNTCP unit, etc.) within the stipulated time.
- Performance is reviewed annually; extension is granted based on appraisal and programme needs.
- No automatic conversion to permanent status is provided under the current NHM guidelines.

FAQs – DHS Godda NHM Recruitment 2026
Q1: What is the last date to apply for DHS Godda NHM 2026?
A: 30 August 2026. Late applications are not accepted, and no extension has been announced as of 06 August 2026.
Q2: What is the age limit for DHS Godda NHM posts?
A: Minimum 21 years. Maximum is 35 years for General/EWS, 37 for BC, 40 for SC/ST and 38 for women (Gen/BC) as on 01 January 2026. PwD candidates get five additional years.
Q3: Is there an exam for DHS Godda NHM recruitment?
A: Yes — a written examination or skill test carries 40 points if more than 10 applications are received. If fewer than 10 applications come, selection is purely on educational marks.
Q4: What is the salary of DHS Godda NHM posts?
A: Monthly honorarium ranges from ₹10,000 (Hospital/Sanitary Attendant) to ₹49,500 (Epidemiologist). Most nursing and paramedical posts fall between ₹10,000 and ₹16,564.
Q5: Can final-year students apply for DHS Godda NHM 2026?
A: No. Candidates must possess the required qualification and council registration before the last date of application.
Q6: Is DHS Godda NHM a permanent government job?
A: No. All posts are contractual for one year, extendable on annual performance appraisal under the National Health Mission. There is no permanent absorption.
Q7: Can candidates from other states apply for DHS Godda recruitment?
A: Yes, but preference is given to Jharkhand residents. A domicile certificate is required for reservation claims.
Q8: Where will I be posted if selected?
A: Within Godda district at SNCU, UPHC, RNTCP units, NPHCE facilities or other programme units as per the post.
Q9: Is the Nutritional Counsellor post open for male candidates?
A: No. The notification clearly states Nutritional Counsellor (MTC) is reserved for female candidates only.
Q10: Do I need a driving licence for any post?
A: Yes. Permanent two-wheeler driving licence is required for Senior TB Lab Supervisor, Malaria Technical Supervisor and District PPM Coordinator posts.
Q11: What are the disadvantages of contractual NHM posts in Jharkhand?
A: The honest downside is year-to-year renewal with no guarantee of permanence or pension. Many candidates treat these roles as stop-gap experience while preparing for permanent state or central exams.
Q12: How much do NHM contract nurses earn in Jharkhand?
A: In Godda, the honorarium for Staff Nurse ranges from ₹15,015 to ₹18,900 depending on the unit. Similar district-level NHM posts across Jharkhand usually fall in the ₹12,000–₹20,000 bracket.
Q13: Is experience mandatory for every post in this recruitment?
A: Not for every post. ANM and a few counsellor posts do not list mandatory experience, while Staff Nurse (SNCU), most Pharmacist posts and several technical roles require one to three years of relevant experience with proof.
Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?
- You meet the age and educational criteria as of 01 January 2026.
- You are comfortable with a one-year contractual engagement under NHM.
- You hold valid Jharkhand Council registration where required.
