Quick Overview – Bank of Baroda SO 2026

What Posts Are Available?

Almost the entire drive is the Wealth Executive scale-I role. Credit Analyst is a smaller, higher-scale CA track. UR takes the largest share on both posts. PwBD seats sit inside the 1,100 total (horizontal), not on top of it.

What Is the Salary of a Wealth Executive?

Bank of Baroda pays these posts on IBA officer scales, not 7th CPC.

PostScaleBasic payIndicative in-hand (metro)
Wealth ExecutiveJMG/S-I₹48,480~₹70,000–₹85,000 / month
Credit Analyst – C&ICMMG/S-II₹64,820~₹90,000–₹1,10,000 / month

In-hand is an indicative figure (basic + current IBA DA + HRA + special allowance, minus NPS ~10% and tax). Actual take-home varies with posting city and the DA rate in force. Calculate a city-wise estimate on the Bank Salary Calculator.

Scale-I runs ₹48,480–2000/7–62,480–2340/2–67,160–2680/7–85,920. Scale-II runs ₹64,820–2340/1–67,160–2680/10–93,960. Perquisites follow Bank of Baroda officer rules (medical, leave, accommodation or HRA, as applicable). Do not treat the calculator output as an appointment-letter figure.

What Is the Application Fee?

CategoryFee (inclusive of GST)
UR, EWS, OBC₹850 + payment-gateway charges
SC, ST, PwBD, ESM, Women₹175 + payment-gateway charges

The fee is non-refundable even if the online test is not held, or if you are not shortlisted. Pay only through the portal by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI between 04 September and 24 September 2026.

How to Apply?

  1. Read Advt. No. BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/17 on the Bank of Baroda Current Opportunities page.
  2. Open the live form: Bank of Baroda SO 2026 online registration (open until 24 September 2026).
  3. Register with an active mobile number and email ID. Keep both live till the process ends.
  4. Fill the form. Choose the post you actually qualify for. If the portal allows a second application for the other post, submit it separately only if you meet that post’s rules.
  5. Upload photo (200×230 px, 20–50 KB), signature (140×60 px, 10–20 KB), left thumb impression (240×240 px, 20–50 KB) and handwritten declaration (800×400 px, 50–100 KB). Use the Photo & Signature Resizer so the file is not rejected.
  6. Upload resume and eligibility PDFs (max 500 KB each, A4).
  7. Pay the fee online and generate the acknowledgement. Save the application number and a printout.

If more than one application is submitted for the same post, only the last submitted application will be considered. Fee paid on an earlier form is normally not transferred or refunded.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Counting clerical years as officer or sales experience. The advertisement excludes clerical cadre.
  2. Uploading an expired NISM or IC 38 certificate. Validity is checked as of 01 September 2026.
  3. Marking OBC when you are creamy-layer. Category cannot be changed after registration.
  4. Treating the IBPS registration number as optional. The process is complete only after fee payment and an acknowledgement email.
  5. Waiting for the evening of 24 September. Gateway timeouts on the last day are common.

How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection is a chain of stages, not a single interview.

  1. Application scrutiny against the 01 September 2026 cut-off.
  2. Online test (if conducted) at centres decided by the Bank.
  3. Psychometric test and any other test the Bank notifies.
  4. Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview (more than one interview round is possible).
  5. Document verification and medical examination.
  6. Final merit, subject to reservation roster and fitness.

The Bank may drop or alter a stage. Call letters go only to the registered email.

Sections 1–3 are qualifying. Merit is built mainly on Professional Knowledge plus later GD/PI. Wrong answers carry 0.25 negative mark. GD/PI qualifying marks: 60% for UR/EWS and 55% for reserved categories. Final ranking uses combined scores as decided by the Bank.

No separate physical-efficiency test is prescribed for these desk/field officer roles. Medical fitness still applies before joining.

Why Does Bank of Baroda Matter?

Bank of Baroda is a Public Sector Bank owned by the Government of India and supervised through the Department of Financial Services. The head office is at Mandvi, Vadodara; the corporate office is at C-26, G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The bank runs a large domestic branch network plus international operations, and it sits in the same public sector banking cluster as SBI, PNB and Canara Bank.

Wealth Management Services sells investments, insurance and portfolio products to affluent clients. Corporate & Institutional Credit appraises and monitors large-ticket corporate loans. A Wealth Executive is a licensed seller-relationship officer, not a branch cashier. A Credit Analyst builds and reviews corporate credit proposals with the relationship team.

Candidates search Bank of Baroda careers because the brand is a listed PSU bank with IBA pay, nationwide transfer, and a clearer officer path than most private wealth shops. They also search because BoB has run separate contractual wealth and C&IC drives in 2026, so applicants want to know this 1,100-post notice is regular cadre, not another fixed-term contract.

The honest limit: first posting is not a city of your choice. Transfers continue through the career, and the three-year service bond makes an early exit expensive.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

The closest tabs most applicants already have open are IBPS SO (Marketing / IT / AFO) and SBI Specialist Cadre Officer, plus BoB’s own earlier 2026 C&IC manager drive and the contractual Wealth Management Services hiring. This notice is different because 1,000 seats sit at JMG/S-I for certified wealth sellers, not at Scale-II/III credit managers, and because the Credit Analyst track is locked to CA + scheduled-bank experience.

Best fit: working relationship managers and mutual-fund / insurance sellers who already hold IC 38 or NISM V-A and can prove two years of wealth-product sales outside the clerical cadre. On the credit side, newly qualified CAs who have completed one full year in a Scheduled Commercial Bank and want Scale-II rather than waiting for IBPS PO allotment.

Skip this if you are a fresher, a clerk trying to convert branch service into “sales experience”, or a CA whose only work has been in industry or practice with no scheduled-bank stint. Also skip if you cannot relocate or cannot stay for three years.

Practical tip: Get the NISM or IC 38 certificate re-issued or verified before you click submit. A lapsed certificate as of 01 September 2026 knocks out an otherwise complete Wealth Executive form, and the ₹850 fee will not come back.

Expect roughly two to three quarters from the last date to joining if the Bank holds an online test; purely interview-led cycles can move faster. Growth after joining follows the officer scale: JMG/S-I to MMG/S-II by vacancy and internal process, not by a second public exam.

What Documents Are Required?

Keep originals and self-attested copies ready for the interview / DV stage.

  • Online application printout and fee receipt
  • Resume (same file you uploaded)
  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport or driving licence)
  • Date-of-birth proof (Class 10 certificate or birth certificate)
  • Graduation mark sheets and degree
  • CA membership proof (Credit Analyst)
  • IC 38 / NISM Series V-A, XXI-A or V-D certificate (Wealth Executive)
  • Experience certificates on company letterhead, with dates and role (sales of wealth products or scheduled-bank service)
  • Caste / EWS / PwBD certificate in the prescribed central format, valid as on 01 September 2026
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the central format
  • Ex-servicemen discharge book and service certificate, if claiming relaxation
  • No-objection certificate if already employed in government / PSU

Document alert: experience letters must show wealth-product sales or scheduled-bank duties. A generic “officer” or “assistant” letter without product or credit language is a frequent DV rejection.

Service Conditions

  • Probation: 12 months of active service from the date of joining.
  • Bond: minimum 3 years. Leaving earlier attracts three months’ gross salary, capped at ₹2 lakh (JMG/S-I) or ₹3 lakh (MMG/S-II).
  • Posting: anywhere in India, at the Bank’s discretion.
  • Pension: PSU bank officers are covered under NPS, not old pension.
  • Confirmation depends on satisfactory probation, not on the online test score alone.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. The Bank publishes a provisional list and emails the interview / offer communication to the registered ID.
  2. You attend document verification with originals. Category and experience claims are re-checked against the 01 September 2026 cut-off.
  3. You complete the pre-employment medical examination.
  4. You execute the service bond and collect the appointment letter for JMG/S-I or MMG/S-II.
  5. You join the allotted office or branch, complete induction, and start the 12-month probation.
  6. After satisfactory probation, you are confirmed as a regular officer; transfers and scale movement then follow Bank of Baroda officer rules.

Typical timeline from last date to joining in similar BoB specialist cycles is about 6–9 months. Use the NPS Pension Calculator only as a long-term illustration, not as a joining CTC.

FAQs – Bank of Baroda SO 2026

What is the last date to apply for Bank of Baroda SO 2026?

24 September 2026. Registration and fee payment close on the same day. No extension is notified as of 04 September 2026. Print of the submitted form remains available until 09 October 2026.

What is the age limit for Bank of Baroda Wealth Executive?

22 to 32 years as of 01 September 2026 for UR/EWS. Credit Analyst is 21 to 33. OBC gets 3 extra years, SC/ST 5, PwBD 10 on UR (13 OBC, 15 SC/ST). ESM relaxation is available; ESM has no officer-cadre vacancy quota.

Is there an exam for Bank of Baroda Wealth Executive, or is it interview-based?

It depends on the application. The Bank may hold a 120-mark online test (0.25 negative marking) plus a psychometric test, then GD and/or an interview. Sections 1–3 of the test are only qualifying. Professional Knowledge and GD/PI build merit.

What is the salary of a Bank of Baroda Wealth Executive?

Starting basic is ₹48,480 in JMG/S-I. Indicative metro in-hand is about ₹70,000–₹85,000 a month after IBA DA, HRA and deductions. Credit Analyst starts at ₹64,820 basic in MMG/S-II, with a higher take-home. Use the Bank Salary Calculator for a city split.

Can final-year students apply for Bank of Baroda SO 2026?

No. Graduation, CA (for Credit Analyst) and the listed NISM or IC 38 certificate must stand as on 01 September 2026. Result-awaited candidates should apply only if the degree and mandatory certificate are already dated on or before that cut-off.

Is Bank of Baroda SO a permanent government job?

Yes. These are regular officer posts in a Public Sector Bank, not the contractual wealth roles BoB advertised earlier in 2026. Pension is through NPS. Confirmation follows a 12-month probation and a three-year service bond.

Can candidates from other states apply for Bank of Baroda recruitment?

Yes. This is an all-India drive. Indian citizens who meet age, qualification and experience rules may apply. There is no state-domicile lock. You must accept posting anywhere in India.

Where will I be posted if selected as a Wealth Executive?

Anywhere in India, including non-metro locations. The advertisement does not offer a first-posting preference form. Transfers continue after probation under Bank of Baroda officer rules.

Is there a bond if I leave Bank of Baroda early?

Yes. You must serve three years. If you resign earlier, you pay three months’ gross salary, capped at ₹2 lakh for Wealth Executive and ₹3 lakh for Credit Analyst. Amounts can be revised in the appointment letter.

Is there negative marking in this specialist officer exam?

Yes, if the online test is held. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks. Unanswered questions typically carry no penalty. Because sections 1–3 are only qualifying, a weak Professional Knowledge paper still sinks the merit list.

How much do credit officers earn in public sector banks?

Scale-II credit officers on IBA pay usually take home about ₹90,000–₹1,10,000 a month in metros at the current DA, before tax. Scale-I is lower. Private-bank credit packages can start higher on CTC but often skip PSU job security and NPS.

Is wealth management in PSU banks worth it compared with private AMCs?

Worth knowing before you apply: PSU wealth roles trade a capped IBA salary and transfers for regular cadre, medical cover and a public-sector brand. Private AMCs and brokerages may pay more in variable incentives. If you want only metro postings and high incentive, this drive will frustrate you.

Do public sector bank specialist officers get old pension?

No. New officer joiners in Bank of Baroda and other nationalised banks are under NPS, not OPS. Gratuity and leave encashment still apply after qualifying service. Do not apply expecting a defined old-pension cheque.

Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?

  • You meet age, degree, certificate and experience rules as on 01 September 2026.
  • You understand this is regular PSU bank officer service, with a 12-month probation and a 3-year bond.
  • Your experience letters prove wealth-product sales or scheduled-bank work, not clerical duty.
  • You can sit a Professional Knowledge paper and a GD/PI, and you accept an all-India posting.
  • Photo, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration are within the stated pixel and KB limits.
