Empanelment, not a confirmed seat: RITES Limited has invited experts for a land-use study at the Port of Colombo, and mere empanelment does not guarantee a job. Who Should Apply?

No category-wise reservation breakup is printed. The REOI does not fix how many experts will be empanelled in each position.

• B.E./B.Tech (Civil) + chartered or internationally accepted civil-engineering recognition + 15 years in a major container port → Port Planning Expert (Team Leader/Project Manager). Sector experience: minimum 15 years. Similar assignment minimum 15 years. The remarks also require firsthand experience in port infrastructure planning and execution, and expertise in port facility planning.
• PG Diploma or PG degree in Supply Chain Management, Port & Logistics Management, Port & Shipping Management, or Shipping Logistics + 15 years in port logistics → Port Related Logistics Expert. Sector experience: minimum 15 years. The similar-assignment column prints a minimum of 5 years after 2015.
• Mandatory vs preferred (Logistics Expert only): The remarks call 5 years of international logistics exposure in major foreign ports an added advantage. Those ports should have a leading Container Port Performance Index ranking, in a country with an LPI ranking less than 35, and the exposure must be after 2015. The same remarks also say that 5-year experience shall be maintained after 2015. Who cannot apply

• Anyone above 60 years on the date the EOI application is submitted.
• An applicant who cannot attach a passport copy and the last 3 filed income-tax returns.
• An applicant who is blacklisted, debarred, banned or restricted by a Central or State Government department or a Central or State PSU on the submission date, unless that history is disclosed in Form-II. Earlier restrictions must still be disclosed.

What Posts Are Available? – RITES Vacancy & Eligibility 2026

Three expert positions are named. The REOI does not print a vacancy count for any of them. Empanelment is a list RITES can draw from when it bids, not an offer of three jobs.

Age for all three positions: not more than 60 years as on the last date of EOI submission. Remuneration is not a scale. See the remuneration section.

What Is the Age Limit?

For the first list, that cut-off is 08 October 2026. An application sent later is reckoned on its own submission date. No extra years for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, women or ex-servicemen are printed. Use the 60-year cap only.

Examples: ✅ A 59-year-old candidate born on 09 October 1966 is eligible for the first list (within the 60-year limit as on 08 October 2026). ❌ A 61-year-old candidate born on 07 October 1965 is not eligible for the first list (exceeds the maximum age by 1 year).

What Is the Remuneration?

Not specified as a fixed amount. Annexure-IV asks the applicant to state an indicative expected remuneration per person per month, in INR or USD, on a monthly employment basis of 22 working days, excluding GST.

That figure is a proposal, not an offer. Clause 9.6 says RITES will negotiate salary expectations with shortlisted experts and take written consent on willingness, availability and agreed remuneration before it submits the bid. Engagement follows only if the project is awarded and that expert’s CV was used in the bid.

No DA, HRA, city class, pension, PF or medical benefit is printed. Do not treat this as an IDA or 7th CPC scale.

5. Sign every page in indelible ink. Initial any correction.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Sending the mail to a general RITES inbox, or omitting the copy to eoi.ports@rites.com and bmc.rites@rites.com. Clause 8.2 names three addresses.

How Are Candidates Selected?

No interview stage is mentioned. No written exam is mentioned. Selection for the panel is an evaluation of the EOI, not a test score.

2. Empanelment alone does not create a job. RITES may suspend, remove or terminate it at any time without assigning a reason, and without liability for loss of opportunity.
3. If a bid is prepared, RITES may call the expert, negotiate remuneration, and take written consent on willingness and availability before the proposal goes in.
4. Engagement is for the project duration, and only for experts whose CVs were used, once the project is awarded to RITES.
5. Disputes on this REOI and the empanelment process go to courts at Delhi. The governing law is Indian law.
