The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

This is a pure sports-quota drive in the Income Tax Department’s Delhi Region. Selection rests on certified sporting achievements between 2020 and 15 October 2026, not on a written competitive exam. Comparable sports-quota openings appear in other Central Government departments and railways under DoPT guidelines; the exact preference order and certificate forms here follow the same framework.

Best fit: Active sportspersons who already hold the required educational qualification as on 31 August 2026 and possess medals or recognised representation certificates in the listed games (especially Athletics, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball).

Who should skip: Candidates without verifiable sports certificates in the exact Annexure-II forms, or those whose highest achievement is only school-level without a medal if stronger candidates are available. Also skip if you cannot commit to representing the department for at least 10 years and staying in the Delhi Region without transfer.

Practical tip: Prepare the sports certificate in the precise form and have it signed by the named authority (National Federation Secretary, Dean of Sports, etc.) before the window closes. Incomplete or wrong-format certificates lead to summary rejection.

What Documents Are Required?

  • Scanned certificate for proof of date of birth (10th / Matriculation or equivalent showing DOB)
  • Scanned Aadhaar card
  • Scanned marksheet/certificate of essential educational qualification (as on 31 August 2026)
  • Certificates of sports achievements in the prescribed Annexure-II forms, signed by the competent authority named in the notice
  • SC/ST community certificate in the prescribed Annexure-III format (only if claiming age relaxation)
  • No Objection Certificate from employer (if serving in Central/State Government, PSU, autonomous body or similar)

Certificates in any other format are not accepted. Originals must be produced at document verification.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. Document verification of all original certificates.
  2. Appointment order at the minimum of the applicable pay level.
  3. Skill test (for Tax Assistant and Stenographer Grade II) within the time mentioned in the appointment order.
  4. Two-year probation. Participation in departmental tournaments is a factor in declaring probation.
  5. Posting in the Delhi Region only. Undertaking required not to seek inter-charge transfer or loan basis transfer for a minimum of 10 years, and to represent the department in tournaments for at least 10 years.

Services regarding sports participation and leave are subject to DoPT OMs.
