What Is the Veterinary Officer Salary in Arunachal Pradesh?

Arunachal Pradesh follows the 7th CPC matrix. State DA is 60% of basic pay from 01 January 2026.

PostPay levelBasic payIndicative grossIndicative in-hand
Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Veterinary Officer, Assistant Director (Sericulture)Level-10₹56,100~₹98,000–₹1,05,000~₹88,000–₹96,000 / month
Dairy Development OfficerLevel-6₹35,400~₹62,000–₹68,000~₹55,000–₹62,000 / month

How the Level-10 estimate is built: basic ₹56,100 + DA 60% (₹33,660) + HRA 10% for a typical Z-class station (₹5,610) + transport allowance. Employee NPS is about 10% of basic + DA. Net is always lower than gross.

Itanagar Capital Region and larger towns can attract a higher HRA slab if the state classifies them as Y-class. Remote circle postings usually stay at 10% HRA. These figures are indicative, not an appointment-letter amount. Check the exact slip with the 7th CPC Salary Calculator.

NPS, leave, medical facilities, and annual increment follow Arunachal Pradesh civil-service rules after joining. The advertisement does not print a separate special pay or non-practising allowance for Veterinary Officer.

What Is the Application Fee?

All candidates₹200Online only
PwBDExemptSection 19 of the Arunachal Pradesh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018

Fee paid against one Registration ID is not adjusted against another RID. Keep the payment receipt with the application printout.

How to Apply? (Step-by-Step)

Applications are accepted only online on the Commission site. The form link is scheduled to open at 5:00 PM on 10 September 2026 and close at 5:00 PM on 30 September 2026.

  1. Open the APPSC online recruitment portal or go to appsc.gov.in → Apply Online.
  2. Complete One Time Registration if you do not already have an OTR account. Existing users should log in with the same user ID and password.
  3. Select Advertisement No. 04/2026 (Common Group-A & Group-B Gazetted Technical Posts-2026 Part-I) and the post you are eligible for.
  4. Fill personal, PRC, APST, language and education details exactly as on certificates.
  5. Upload photo and signature in the notified size. Use the Photo & Signature Resizer before upload: photo 40–100 KB JPG, white background, both ears visible, no headgear or sunglasses; signature 40–50 KB JPG, black ink on white paper.
  6. Upload self-attested PDF copies of PRC, APST, matriculation, degree, marksheets, Veterinary Council registration (for VO), sericulture PG diploma (for Assistant Director), PwBD certificate if claimed, NOC and appointment order if seeking government-employee age concession.
  7. Pay ₹200 online unless you are PwBD-exempt.
  8. Read the disclaimer on the form, submit, and save the application with the Registration ID. Take a printout.

If more than one application is submitted, only the application with the highest Registration ID (RID) will be accepted. The highest RID form must be complete. Fee paid on an earlier RID is not transferred or refunded.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying without both PRC and APST uploaded. Either gap is a rejection ground.
  • Leaving Veterinary Council registration for later and then missing the interview-day deadline.
  • Submitting a second form and assuming the first fee will be reused. It will not.
  • Using a PwBD certificate issued after 30 September 2026. The notice requires the issue date to be on or before the last date.
  • Uploading a photo with a coloured background or sunglasses. The specification is a white background, front face, both ears visible.
  • Treating final-semester eligibility as a right to skip the degree at the interview. Original pass proof is compulsory on or before the viva date.

Where Is the Exam Held?

Written examination and the Recruitment Test, if held, will be conducted in the Itanagar Capital Region only. The Commission has not listed any other city in this advertisement.

Why Does APPSC Arunachal Pradesh Matter?

The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is the state recruiting body for gazetted services of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, sitting at Itanagar. These 155 seats feed four line departments that run field agriculture, horticulture, animal health and sericulture across a hill state with long travel circuits.

Candidates search this drive because Veterinary Officer and ADO/HDO are among the few regular gazetted technical openings reserved for APST graduates. The common exam also reopens a path after the earlier separate papers were cancelled. Search phrases such as APPSC recruitment 2026, Arunachal Veterinary Officer vacancy and Arunachal ADO bharti all point to the same notice.

The constraint is the same fact that makes the seats attractive: the cadre is closed to non-APST applicants, postings include remote circles, and the language-proficiency condition is now a written eligibility rule, not an informal expectation.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

This is the notification an Arunachal B.V.Sc or B.Sc (Agriculture / Horticulture) graduate actually keeps open next to Assam’s APSC Veterinary Officer drive (137 VO/BVO seats) and other North-East animal-husbandry or agriculture officer advertisements. Compared with Assam APSC, APPSC offers fewer veterinary seats but Level-10 pay for VO, ADO and HDO, plus a state-resident filter that sharply cuts outside competition. It is not comparable with all-India IBPS or UPSC agricultural exams.

Best fit: APST graduates who already hold PRC, can work in district and circle offices, and, for Veterinary Officer, already have or can finish Arunachal Pradesh State Veterinary Council registration before the interview. Final-semester students should apply only if the degree will be in hand by the viva date.

Skip this if you are not APST. The 26 August 2026 notification is a hard bar, not a preference clause. Also think twice if you want only a clinic-style city posting. Field touring in hilly circles is the normal first-year reality for these cadres.

Practical tip: Keep PRC, APST, matriculation and (for VO) Council registration in one folder before 10 September. If you sat the cancelled ADO/HDO/VO/DDO cycle, attach the 29 June 2026 age-relaxation proof with the form. Do not wait for the portal to ask later.

What Documents Are Required?

Upload self-attested copies with the online form. Carry originals at document verification.

  • Signature on white paper with black ink (40–50 KB, JPG)
  • Latest colour passport photo, white background, both ears visible, no headgear or sunglasses (40–100 KB, JPG)
  • Photo ID whose number is entered in the form (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN / Passport / Driving Licence or other State or Central photo ID)
  • APST certificate
  • Permanent Resident Certificate of Arunachal Pradesh
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate naming the subject
  • Marksheets of the qualifying degree
  • PG Diploma in Sericulture and its marksheet (Assistant Director only)
  • Arunachal Pradesh State Veterinary Council registration (Veterinary Officer)
  • Matriculation certificate / marksheet for date of birth
  • PwBD certificate issued by an authorised medical board under Section 57 of the RPwD Act, 2016, dated on or before 30 September 2026, with the relevant specialist on the board
  • Appointment order proving 3 years’ continuous regular service (state government employees seeking age concession)
  • NOC from the Head of Department (regular government employees)
  • Any other age-relaxation document claimed in the form

Information sitting only inside an attachment is ignored unless it is also claimed in the application form.

What Are the Service Conditions? – Probation, Bond & Posting

The advertisement does not print a probation length or a service bond. Those terms will come from the recruitment rules of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, or Textiles & Handicrafts after recommendation.

Posting is anywhere in Arunachal Pradesh under the indenting department. First posting is often a district or circle office, not only Itanagar.

The Appointing Authority, not APPSC, conducts the medical test, verifies character and antecedents, and authenticates certificates against the recruitment rules and the 26 August 2026 eligibility notification. A Commission recommendation does not itself create a right to appointment.

Scribe and compensatory time for PwBD follow the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the Arunachal Pradesh RPwD Rules, 2018.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. APPSC publishes a provisional recommendation list after the written exam and viva-voce.
  2. The indenting department calls recommended candidates for medical examination and document authentication.
  3. Character and antecedent verification runs in parallel.
  4. An appointment order is issued only if the department is satisfied with medical fitness, certificates and the APST–PRC–language conditions.
  5. You join the allotted district or circle office of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, or Textiles & Handicrafts.
  6. Pay starts in Level-10 or Level-6 with state DA and local HRA. NPS deduction begins with the first regular month for new state recruits.
  7. Confirmation, transfers and promotion follow the cadre rules of that department. Typical technical-officer progression in state agriculture or AH departments is Officer → Senior / District-level post → Deputy Director stream, subject to vacancies and departmental exams.

Expect several months between application close and joining. Similar APPSC technical cycles have often stretched across a written exam, interview list and departmental checks rather than a single-month finish.

FAQs – APPSC Group A & B Technical 2026

What is the last date to apply for APPSC Veterinary Officer 2026?

30 September 2026, 5:00 PM. The form also opens only at 5:00 PM on 10 September 2026. No extension is mentioned in Advertisement No. 04/2026.

What is the age limit for APPSC Veterinary Officer and ADO posts?

21 to 35 years as of 30 September 2026. APST candidates get 5 extra years (maximum 40). PwBD gets 10 years, and APST PwBD gets 15 years (maximum 50). Age is taken only from the matriculation certificate.

Is there an exam for APPSC Group A technical posts, or is it interview-based?

Yes, there is a written examination of 450 marks, then a 50-mark viva-voce. If applications are too many, a 200-mark objective Recruitment Test is held first. Recruitment Test marks do not count in the final merit.

What is the salary of a Veterinary Officer in Arunachal Pradesh?

Level-10 basic is ₹56,100. With state DA at 60% and typical Z-class HRA, in-hand is about ₹88,000–₹96,000 a month. Dairy Development Officer is Level-6, roughly ₹55,000–₹62,000 in hand. Actual HRA depends on the posting station.

Can final-year students apply for this recruitment?

Yes. Final-semester candidates of the qualifying course may apply. Original proof of having passed must be produced on or before the interview date. Veterinary Officer candidates must still complete Council registration by document verification or interview.

Is APPSC Veterinary Officer a permanent government job?

Yes. These are regular Group-A and Group-B gazetted posts of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Appointment still depends on the department’s medical exam and document check after APPSC recommendation.

Can candidates from other states apply for APPSC recruitment?

No. You must be an inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh with PRC and an APST certificate. Indian citizenship alone is not enough for Advertisement No. 04/2026.

Where will I be posted if selected?

Anywhere in Arunachal Pradesh under Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, or Textiles & Handicrafts. First posting is decided by the department, often in a district or circle office rather than only Itanagar.

Is Arunachal Pradesh domicile required for these gazetted posts?

Yes. PRC of Arunachal Pradesh is mandatory, together with APST status and indigenous tribal language proficiency, under the 26 August 2026 government notification.

How do I check my APPSC application status?

Log in to your OTR account on appsc.gov.in. After payment, you should also receive an email and SMS on the registered contacts. Keep the Registration ID; later lists are published against that number.

What is the salary of a state veterinary officer in the North-East?

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Veterinary Officer cadre is Level-10 under the 7th CPC. Neighbouring state scales differ. Assam’s current VO/BVO notification uses a separate state pay band. Always compare basic pay plus DA, not the post name alone.

Is a state agriculture officer job worth it compared with a central exam?

It depends on domicile. For an APST graduate, this is a direct gazetted Level-10 cadre inside the home state. A central agriculture exam may offer all-India posting and a wider promotion tree, but it also means competing with the national pool.

What are the disadvantages of these Arunachal technical officer posts?

The honest downside is the closed eligibility plus field posting. Non-APST graduates cannot enter. Selected officers should expect hill-circle touring, limited urban postings at the start, and a language-proficiency condition that the state will implement as notified.

Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?

  • You hold both Arunachal PRC and APST certificates.
  • You meet the post-wise degree (and Veterinary Council registration, if applying for VO).
  • Your age fits the 30 September 2026 cut-off after the correct relaxation.
  • You can sit the written papers in Itanagar and later join a district or circle posting.
  • Photo, signature, PRC, APST and degree scans are ready before 10 September 2026.
  • You will submit only one complete application and save the highest RID printout.
