Prasar Bharati, India’s public service broadcaster under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has issued a fresh sales hiring notice dated 07 September 2026. The NIA seeks 20 Marketing Executives for Akashvani and Doordarshan sales work at 16 stations, from Mumbai and Bengaluru to Leh and Panaji.
This is a new cycle, not an extension of the earlier January 2026 Marketing Executive drive that had 14 seats. Age, degree and the one-year direct-sales condition are frozen as on 07 September 2026. Applications go only through the Avedan portal.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Counting brand / digital / campus work as “direct sales.” The NIA wants one year in direct sales; media sales is only a preference.
- Treating 22 September 2026 as a guaranteed portal date. The legal clock is 15 days from the newspaper, which may be earlier in your state.
- Uploading blurred marksheets. Para 9(ix) says incomplete uploads are rejected without intimation.
- Watching only the primary inbox. Shortlists go by email; check spam and junk.

How Are Candidates Selected?
Selection is a chain, not a single interview day.
- Online application + document upload on the Avedan portal.
- Shortlisting from the form, experience proof and completeness of papers.
- Test and/or interview if Prasar Bharati chooses to hold one for the shortlisted list. No public syllabus or mark scheme is printed.
- Email contact only for that shortlist. No TA/DA is paid.
- Engagement letter for the allotted station, subject to document check and the two-year contract terms.
Headcount can rise or fall at final selection, at Prasar Bharati’s discretion (para 9(viii)).

Why Does Prasar Bharati Matter?
Prasar Bharati is the statutory public broadcaster created under the Prasar Bharati Act. It runs Akashvani (All India Radio) and Doordarshan, and sits in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting portfolio. What Documents Are Required?
