PFRDA Grade A Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 30 Posts

PFRDA Grade A Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026 notification for 30 officer posts

Vacancies: 30 · Posts: 4 streams · Type: Regular Government Service · Mode: Online · Fee: ₹1,000 (UR/EWS/OBC); Nil (SC/ST/PwBD/ESM) · Apply: 03 September–24 September 2026 · Salary: Basic ₹62,500; gross ~₹2.05 lakh/month · Selection: Phase I + Phase II + Interview · Location: New Delhi / Mumbai (all-India liability)

India’s pension regulator has opened a short, high-stakes window for Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager). Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, a statutory financial-sector regulator under the PFRDA Act, 2013 and in the administrative fold of the Ministry of Finance, is recruiting 30 officers across General, Research, Actuary and Official Language (Rajbhasha) streams.

PFRDA accepts applications only online through pfrda.org.in and the IBPS registration portal from 03 September 2026 to 24 September 2026. Phase I is already dated: 15 October 2026. Phase II follows on 20 November 2026. That leaves little slack between form-filling and the first paper.

The role sits in pension regulation, NPS and Atal Pension Yojana supervision, not branch banking. Pay starts at ₹62,500 basic, with official gross emoluments of about ₹2,05,000 a month at the minimum of the scale, including the Authority’s NPS contribution. Offices today are in New Delhi and Mumbai. Officers can be sent anywhere in India.

What Posts Are Available? – PFRDA Vacancy & Eligibility 2026

Twenty-five of the thirty seats sit in the General stream. That is the realistic target for most MA / MBA / LLB / B.Tech / CA-CS-CMA-CFA candidates. Research (2) and Actuary (2) are specialist filters. Rajbhasha is a single OBC seat. If you only hold a generic master’s and no IAI papers, do not spend a second fee on Actuary.

EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to Government of India directions and litigation. PwBD reservation is horizontal and counted inside the General total, not extra.

Eligibility notes that actually reject people

  • Degrees must be from a UGC-recognised Indian university or an AIU-recognised foreign equivalent.
  • Two-year PG diplomas count only if AIU treats them as equivalent to a master’s in that discipline.
  • Date of passing is the marksheet / provisional certificate date, or the university website result date with an official certificate.
  • Computer literacy with MS Word and Excel is mandatory.
  • Officers recruited in any stream can be posted to any department. Stream is an entry gate, not a lifelong silo.

Final-year / result-awaited candidates may sit Phase I, Phase II and the interview. The joining offer is withdrawn, with no extra time, if the required qualification proof is not produced within the time PFRDA grants.

Use the conversion method specified in the notification if your university issues CGPA. Our CGPA to Percentage Calculator is only an indicative helper. The official formula prevails.

What Is the Age Limit?

Age is reckoned as on 31 July 2026. A candidate must not have exceeded 30 years, i.e. must have been born on or after 01 August 1996.

CategoryMax age as on 31 July 2026Born on or after
UR / EWS30 years01 August 1996
OBC (NCL), only where OBC posts are reserved33 years01 August 1993
SC / ST, only where SC/ST posts are reserved35 years01 August 1991
PwBD (UR)40 years01 August 1986
PwBD (OBC), where OBC posts are reserved43 years01 August 1983
PwBD (SC/ST), where SC/ST posts are reserved45 years01 August 1981
Ex-servicemen (including eligible ECO/SSCO)35 years01 August 1991

SC/ST + PwBD + ESM combinations get cumulative relaxation.

Reservation is not the same as relaxation. Actuary has only 2 UR seats. SC/ST/OBC candidates can still apply for Actuary and get the fee waiver (SC/ST/PwBD/ESM), but they do not get category age relaxation on a stream that has no reserved vacancy for them. Rajbhasha is one OBC seat. Research has no OBC/ST/EWS seat.

OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates must be issued on or after 01 April 2026 and produced at interview. EWS certificate must be valid for FY 2026–27, based on FY 2025–26 income. No extra time is given at the interview.

Examples:

✅ A 29-year-old UR candidate born on 01 August 1996 — eligible (within the 30-year limit as on 31 July 2026).

❌ A 31-year-old UR candidate born on 31 July 1995 — not eligible (exceeds maximum age by 1 year).

Use our Age Eligibility Calculator to check instantly.

What Is the Assistant Manager Salary in Financial Regulation?

PFRDA Grade A pay is the Authority’s own officer scale, not 7th CPC and not an IBA bank scale.

ComponentFigure (from Advt. 03/2026)
Pay scale₹62,500–3,600(4)–76,900–4,050(7)–1,05,250–EB–4,050(4)–1,21,450–4,650(1)–1,26,100 (17 years)
Starting basic₹62,500
Official gross at minimumapprox. ₹2,05,000 per month
What that gross includesAuthority’s NPS contribution, Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, DA, Local Allowance, Family Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance, Learning Allowance, Housing Allowance

Indicative in-hand: treat ₹1.50–1.70 lakh per month as a working band after employee NPS and income tax in a metro posting. The ₹2.05 lakh figure already folds in employer NPS. It is not take-home. Actual net depends on tax regime, declarations and city allowances. Verify from the appointment / pay fixation memo.

Other notified benefits: Leave Fare Concession, medical (hospitalisation and non-hospitalisation), personal accident insurance, eye refraction/spectacles, children education allowance, knowledge updation allowance, briefcase, conveyance, house cleaning allowance, staff furnishing scheme, computer purchase scheme, and Pluxee meal card.

For a rough tax view on this pay band, use the Income Tax Calculator. For NPS corpus maths later, use the NPS Pension Calculator. Neither replaces PFRDA’s own pay rules.

What Is the Application Fee?

CategoryFee (inclusive of GST)
UR / EWS / OBC₹1,000 per stream
SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-servicemenNil

Fee is non-refundable. Two streams mean two payments for UR/EWS/OBC. Pay only online (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro debit, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, cash cards / mobile wallets) inside the IBPS form. An application without successful payment is cancelled.

How to Apply?

Applications are online only from 03 September 2026 to 24 September 2026. No hard copy is to be posted to PFRDA.

  1. Open the PFRDA careers page, select “PFRDA RECRUITMENT EXERCISE – RECRUITMENT OF OFFICER GRADE A (ASSISTANT MANAGER) – 2026”, and click APPLY ONLINE. Direct form: PFRDA Grade A 2026 registration on IBPS.
  2. Choose CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION. Enter name, mobile and email. Save the provisional registration number and password (also sent by email/SMS).
  3. Use SAVE AND NEXT if you cannot finish in one sitting. After COMPLETE REGISTRATION, particulars including category cannot be edited.
  4. Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as specified. You must also capture a live photograph via webcam or the on-screen QR code on your phone.
  5. Preview, complete registration, pay the fee, and submit. Print the application-with-fee receipt for your file. Do not courier it to PFRDA.
  6. Keep the same email and mobile live till the process ends. Call letters go by email/SMS.

Resize scans with the Photo & Signature Resizer before uploading. Declaration text must be in your handwriting, in English only:

“I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

Capital-letter signatures or declarations are rejected. Visually impaired candidates who cannot write may type the text, put a left-thumb impression below it, and upload that sheet.

Two-stream applicants: use the same Phase I and Phase II centre preferences on both forms. Paper 2 for the second stream is held in a separate shift.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Paying once and assuming both streams are covered. Each stream needs its own form and, for UR/EWS/OBC, its own ₹1,000.
  2. Filing two General forms “just in case.” Only the last submitted application is treated as valid. The earlier fee is gone.
  3. Claiming OBC with a Creamy Layer certificate, or walking into the interview without an OBC (NCL) / EWS certificate dated on or after 01 April 2026.
  4. Skipping the live photo capture or uploading a smudged thumb impression. The form does not register without all four image slots plus live photo.
  5. Waiting till 24 September evening. PFRDA expressly says it takes no responsibility for jammed portals on the last day.

Form/payment problems: raise a ticket at http://cgrs.ibps.in/ and put PFRDA – Officer Grade A 2026 in the subject.

How Are Assistant Managers Selected?

Selection has three stages. Phase I marks do not enter the final merit. Appointment still depends on document verification, character verification and a clean medical/antecedent check after the interview list.

  1. Phase I online screening (15 October 2026) → shortlist for Phase II
  2. Phase II online exam (20 November 2026) → shortlist of about 5 times the vacancies for interview
  3. Phase III interview (Hindi or English, candidate’s choice)
  4. Final merit = Phase II (85%) + Interview (15%), subject to DV, reservation roster and verification
  5. Offer and joining within the time given; unused offers may go to the next name, or the seat may stay vacant

Phase I pattern (screening only)

PaperContentQuestionsMarksTime
Paper 1 (all streams)English Language (20 Q, 25 marks); Quantitative Aptitude (20 Q, 25); Reasoning (30 Q, 25); General Awareness including financial sector (20 Q, 25)9010060 minutes
Paper 2General stream: Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act, Economics, Pension Sector, AI, Media, Marketing & Communication. Other streams: specialised subjects5010040 minutes

Negative marking: 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question, in both papers. Separate cut-offs in each paper and an aggregate cut-off are required. PFRDA sets the aggregate cut-off against vacancy numbers.

Phase II pattern (counts toward merit)

PaperContentQuestionsMarksTimeWeight in Phase II
Paper 1 (all streams)English Descriptive (drafting skills)310060 minutes1/3rd
Paper 2Same subject split as Phase I Paper 25010040 minutes2/3rd

Negative marking: 1/4th on Paper 2 only. Paper 1 (descriptive) is evaluated only if you clear the Paper 2 qualifying mark. You also need separate paper cut-offs plus an aggregate cut-off. Papers, except the English tests, are bilingual (Hindi and English). The syllabus is in the Annexure of the official PDF.

Use the Cut-off Marks Calculator only as a planning tool. Official cut-offs will be PFRDA’s after the exam.

Centres

Phase I: three preferences from a long zonal list (Delhi NCR, Mumbai MMR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh/Mohali, Guwahati and others listed in the PDF). Phase II: one preference from a shorter list. PFRDA can change the allotted centre. No centre-change request is accepted. Travel and stay are the candidate’s cost.

Why Does PFRDA Matter?

Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority is the statutory regulator for India’s pension sector under the PFRDA Act, 2013. It develops and supervises the National Pension System, Atal Pension Yojana and the pension funds, custodians and points of presence around them. That is financial regulation work, closer to SEBI or IRDAI than to a public sector bank branch.

Candidates search this employer because the Grade A badge is scarce, the notified gross pay is well above a typical Scale I bank officer start, and the cadre is small enough that an Assistant Manager is visible. They also search “PFRDA Grade A salary”, “PFRDA Grade A apply online link” and “PFRDA interview” because the process looks like other regulator exams but is run on PFRDA’s own notification, not IBPS SO.

Also Read: PMBI New Delhi Pharmacist, Executive & Manager Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for 178 Posts

The honest limit: PFRDA does not hire Grade A every year. Thirty seats, with 25 of them in one generalist stream, will draw a national postgraduate crowd. First posting is likely New Delhi or Mumbai, but the order says you can be moved anywhere the Authority needs you.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take

Stack this next to SEBI Grade A and IRDAI Assistant Manager, not next to IBPS PO. Those two are the tabs a serious candidate already has open. PFRDA is smaller than both, with a narrower 2026 stream list (no separate Legal, IT or Finance & Accounts stream in this advertisement). Pay, on the notified gross, is in the same regulator neighbourhood as SEBI/IRDAI Grade A and clearly above a new public sector bank Scale I officer.

Best fit: a 24–30-year-old with a clean two-year master’s or a professional qualification who wants regulatory file work on pensions, NPS architecture and intermediary supervision, and who can live with Delhi or Mumbai as the default office.

Skip it if you need a state-cadre posting near home, you are targeting Actuary without the seven IAI Core Principles already done, or you are treating Phase I as “just another prelims” you can wing after a bank clerk syllabus. Paper 2 is domain-heavy from day one, and Phase I marks vanish from the final score.

Practical tip: If you are eligible for General plus Research, file General first and add Research only if your degree string matches the PDF list word for word. A mismatched Research form still costs ₹1,000 and still occupies one of your two-stream slots.

Expect roughly six to nine months from this form to a joining letter if the October–November papers stay on the printed dates. Promotion after confirmation is a small-cadre regulator path (Grade A → B → C), not a mass bank scale-up.

What Documents Are Required?

Keep originals plus photocopies ready for interview / DV. Certificates used for reservation must be dated before the interview DV date.

  • Online application printout and fee e-receipt
  • Photo ID exactly matching the application name: PAN, passport, driving licence, voter card with photo, bank passbook with photo, Aadhaar / e-Aadhaar with photo, gazetted officer ID, college/university ID, Bar Council ID, or employee ID
  • Same photograph as uploaded, for the call letter
  • Degree / PG marksheets and provisional or final certificates (qualification as on 31 July 2026)
  • IAI Core Principles proof (Actuary stream)
  • Caste certificate (SC/ST) or OBC (NCL) issued on or after 01 April 2026
  • EWS Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2026–27, based on FY 2025–26 income, issued on or after 01 April 2026
  • Permanent PwBD certificate in the prescribed format, issued before the application closing date
  • Ex-servicemen discharge/eligibility certificate as defined in the notice
  • No Objection Certificate if you already work in Government, a quasi-government body, or a public sector bank/undertaking
  • Discharge certificate and bond-settlement proof from the current employer at joining, if applicable

Document alert: temporary PwBD certificates that only say “likely to improve” will not support a reserved PwBD claim. OBC/EWS candidates who clear Phase II but arrive at interview without the fresh certificate are not shifted into the UR interview list.

Service Conditions

  • Probation: two years. Confirmation depends on satisfactory performance plus character and antecedent verification.
  • Pension: National Pension System. Employer contribution is already included in the notified gross figure.
  • Posting: New Delhi and Mumbai today; all-India service liability.
  • Department: any department of PFRDA, regardless of entry stream.
  • NOC / bond: serving government and PSU staff need an NOC at interview and a clean discharge, including settlement of any existing bond, at joining.
  • False information: discovered at any career stage, including after confirmation, can end the appointment.
  • Jurisdiction: courts at New Delhi only.

What Happens After Selection?

  1. PFRDA publishes / emails the Phase II shortlist (about five times the vacancies) and then the interview call letter with city and date.
  2. You attend the interview with originals. Outstation candidates get a single AC 3-tier return rail fare by the shortest route on proof.
  3. Final merit is drawn on Phase II (85%) plus interview (15%), after applying the reservation roster.
  4. An offer goes out. If you do not join in time, PFRDA may offer the next name or leave the post vacant. There is no automatic right to the next slot.
  5. You join on probation for two years. Character verification continues in parallel. A later finding that you were ineligible can still end service.
  6. After confirmation, you work as a regular Grade ‘A’ officer on the ₹62,500 scale, typically out of Delhi or Mumbai, with all-India transfer liability and NPS.

FAQs – PFRDA Grade A 2026

What is the last date to apply for PFRDA Grade A 2026?

24 September 2026, for both the form and the fee. No extension is mentioned in the current advertisement. PFRDA can still change the schedule on its website. Late or unpaid forms are not accepted.

What is the age limit for PFRDA Assistant Manager?

30 years as on 31 July 2026 for UR/EWS (born on or after 01 August 1996). OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST 5 years only where that stream has reserved seats. PwBD gets 10 years even if the post is unreserved. Age is calculated only on 31 July 2026.

Is there an exam for PFRDA Grade A, or is it interview-based?

Yes, there is an exam. Phase I is a two-paper online screening test on 15 October 2026. Phase II is a descriptive English paper plus a domain paper on 20 November 2026. The interview is only for roughly five times the number of vacancies. Phase I marks are not added to the final score.

What is the salary of a PFRDA Assistant Manager?

Starting basic is ₹62,500. PFRDA states gross emoluments of about ₹2,05,000 a month at the minimum of the scale, including its NPS contribution and listed allowances. Indicative take-home after employee NPS and tax is lower, roughly ₹1.50–1.70 lakh in a metro, and is not a guaranteed figure.

Can final-year students or result-awaited candidates apply for PFRDA 2026?

Yes. They may sit Phase I, Phase II and the interview. The joining offer is issued only if the required qualification proof is produced within the time PFRDA grants. No further extension is allowed, and the offer is withdrawn without notice if the document does not arrive.

Is PFRDA Assistant Manager a permanent government job?

Yes. It is regular officer recruitment in a statutory regulator, not a project contract. There is a two-year probation, then confirmation after performance and police verification. Retirement savings are through NPS, not the old pension scheme.

Can candidates from other states apply for PFRDA recruitment?

Yes. This is an all-India recruitment for Indian citizens. There is no state domicile filter. The first offices are New Delhi and Mumbai, with liability to serve anywhere in India if PFRDA opens or needs another location.

Where will I be posted if I get selected for PFRDA Grade A?

New Delhi or Mumbai is the current office map. The notification says selected officers may be posted in either office and remain liable to serve anywhere in India. You do not get a home-state guarantee.

Is there negative marking in this exam?

Yes. Phase I has 1/4th negative marking on both papers. Phase II has 1/4th negative marking on the objective Paper 2 only. The descriptive English paper does not carry that penalty. Separate sectional and aggregate cut-offs still apply.

Can I apply for two streams in PFRDA Grade A?

Yes, a maximum two, and only if you meet each stream’s degree list. File two separate applications and pay two fees if you are not fee-exempt. If you submit more than two streams or two forms in one stream, only the last submitted application is considered. Earlier fees are not refunded.

What are the disadvantages of a PFRDA Grade A job?

The honest downside is scale and mobility. Thirty seats and a national postgraduate pool mean a hard shortlist. The cadre is small, so promotions are not a mass annual affair. You should also plan for Delhi or Mumbai living costs and an all-India transfer clause, even if those two cities are the only offices today.

What is the salary of assistant managers in financial regulators?

Regulator Grade A pay is generally higher than a new public sector bank Scale I start and sits on the organisation’s own scale, not 7th CPC. PFRDA has notified about ₹2.05 lakh gross at entry, including employer NPS. SEBI and IRDAI Grade A packages are the right comparison set, not IBPS Clerk pay.

Do financial sector regulators recruit every year?

No. PFRDA Grade A is irregular. Recent public cycles included 2021, 2022 and 2025 before this 2026 advertisement. Treat each notice as a standalone window. Do not assume a 2027 repeat while you skip this form.

Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?

  • You meet the age and educational criteria as on 31 July 2026 for the stream you will tick.
  • You are comfortable with Regular Government Service, two-year probation, NPS and all-India posting liability.
  • You can arrange OBC (NCL) / EWS / PwBD / IAI / NOC papers before the interview DV date.
  • You are prepared for the most demanding stage: Phase II Paper 2 (domain) plus descriptive English, because Phase I marks drop out of the merit.
  • You understand that posting starts from New Delhi / Mumbai and can move elsewhere if the Authority requires it.
