What Posts Are Available? – MP Police Vacancy & Eligibility 2026
Both rows are the same post, Constable (Driver). The split is the unit. The Superintendent of Police may allot a district-force candidate to a related unit or branch. Non-domicile candidates can use only the unreserved open seats.
| Unit | Open | Ex-servicemen (10%) | Home Guard (15%) | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| District Police Force | 600 | 80 | 120 | 800 |
| Total | 750 | 100 | 150 | 1,000 |
Page 3 also splits each row into vertical categories. The columns that add up are UR, SC, ST, OBC and EWS. Those five columns are the 87% प्राविधक pool. The 13% काल्पनिक column is printed separately and is not added on top of those five.
| Unit | UR | SC | ST | OBC | EWS | प्राविधक 87% | काल्पनिक 13% | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Special Armed Force | 54 | 32 | 40 | 28 | 20 | 174 | 26 | 200 |

Printed percentages on that table are UR 27% in the प्राविधक pool, SC 16%, ST 20%, OBC 14%, EWS 10%, then प्राविधक 87% and काल्पनिक 13%. The Open, Ex-servicemen and Home Guard cells inside each category are on page 3 of the rulebook. Vacancies may change if the department revises the roster before the result.
Eligibility
The qualification and the heavy vehicle driving licence must be held by 29 October 2026, the application last date. A practical driving trade test is qualifying and separate from the licence.
Madhya Pradesh domicile is required for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-servicemen and Home Guard reservation, and for age relaxation. Other-state men apply only as unreserved.
Age limit
Age is reckoned as on 29 October 2026. Minimum age is 18 years for every candidate.
| Candidate | Maximum age |
|---|---|
| MP unreserved male | 33 years |
| MP EWS male | 33 years |
| Domicile of another state | 33 years |
| MP SC, ST, OBC male | 38 years |
| MP government, nigam, mandal or autonomous-body employee, and Home Guard | 38 years |
| Inter-caste marriage awardee | 38 years |
| Vikram Award, unreserved | 38 years |

Ex-servicemen get defence service deducted, and the age after deduction must not exceed the upper limit by more than 3 years. A retrenched MP government employee can have up to 7 years of temporary service deducted, within a 3-year ceiling. Only the single largest relaxation applies. Local-body contractual teachers, shikshakarmi and panchayat workers are printed as not eligible for age relaxation. Non-domicile candidates get none.
Use our Age Eligibility Calculator to check instantly.
A man born on 15 June 1994 is 32 on 29 October 2026, so he is inside the unreserved maximum of 33. A man born on 15 June 1992 is 34 on that date, so he is over the unreserved maximum.
What Is the Salary? – MP Police Constable Driver 2026
The rulebook prints the pay scale ₹19,500–₹62,000. It also prints a training-period stipend as a percentage of the minimum of that scale: 70% in the first year, 80% in the second year and 90% in the third year. Other allowances are those sanctioned by the state government. Pension is the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
| Stage | Figure printed in the rulebook |
|---|---|
| Pay scale | ₹19,500–₹62,000 |
| Training year 1 | 70% of the minimum of the scale |
| Training year 2 | 80% of the minimum of the scale |
| Training year 3 | 90% of the minimum of the scale |
| Pension | Defined Contribution Pension Scheme |
An illustrative reading of the printed percentage, not an in-hand salary: 70% of ₹19,500 is ₹13,650 in year 1, 80% is ₹15,600 in year 2, and 90% is ₹17,550 in year 3. Dearness allowance, house rent and deductions are not itemised in the rulebook, so this is not a take-home figure.
What Is the Application Fee?
The cover prints two recruitment fees plus a portal fee. Payment is online. Out-of-state candidates pay the unreserved rate.
| Component | Unreserved | MP domicile SC, ST, OBC, EWS |
|---|---|---|
| MPESB exam fee | ₹500 | ₹250 |
| Police department fee | ₹200 | ₹100 |
| Recruitment fee total | ₹700 | ₹350 |
| MP Online portal fee | ₹60 through a kiosk, or ₹20 through a registered citizen login | Same portal fee |
A candidate who has filled the form but not paid can pay during the correction window, along with the correction fee. The rulebook does not print the correction-fee amount on the cover.

Common mistakes
- Applying with only a light motor vehicle licence. The rulebook requires a heavy vehicle driving licence, and the trade test is qualifying.
- Waiting until 29 October 2026 to start Aadhaar registration or the portal login. The form window and the correction window are different dates.
- A non-domicile candidate selecting a reserved category. Only the unreserved open row is open to him, and a later category switch does not create a reservation.
- Missing the PET date. The rulebook says the PET date notified by the selection committee will not be changed.
- Hiding a fact in character verification. The rulebook says this can lead to removal from service without further notice.

How Are Candidates Selected?
Selection has two written stages, then medical and character verification.
- Written exam, in Hindi, objective MCQ: 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours. General knowledge and reasoning: 40 marks. Intellectual ability and mental aptitude: 30 marks. Science and simple arithmetic: 30 marks. A correct answer gets 1 mark. No mark is deducted for a wrong answer or a blank question. Negative marking is not used.
- Candidates are called for the next stage at 7 times the posts in each vertical category, by cut-off percentile. Everyone on that percentile is called, even if the list goes past 7 times. One cut-off covers SAF and the district force.
- Physical efficiency test: 800-metre run, one attempt, maximum 40 marks. The qualifying mark printed is 8 out of 40. The running table is Schedule I of the rulebook.
- Document verification at the PET stage, on original certificates. Failure here ends selection even if the written exam and PET were passed.
- Driving trade test: qualifying only. It does not add marks.
- Final merit for the open and category rows is the written-exam percentile together with PET marks, after the trade test is passed. Tie-break is proportional marks, then older date of birth.
- Home Guard candidates for the 15% constable seats do not take the written exam. Their list uses PET marks plus service marks.
- Medical examination and character verification come before appointment. Vision printed: better eye not below 6/9 without glasses, the other eye not below 6/12 without glasses, and colour vision. No knock-knees and no flat feet.
For the general knowledge section, revise with our daily Current Affairs digest (6 October 2026).
Physical standards
Physical standards are not relaxed at any stage. If the chest is already above the minimum, it must still expand by at least 5 cm. Use our Physical Standards Calculator to compare your measurement with the table below.
Special Armed Force (Visbal Rules 1973, rules 21 and 22):
| Category | Height | Chest unexpanded | Chest expanded |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unreserved and OBC male | 168 cm | 79 cm | 84 cm |
| Gorkha, Garhwali, Kumaoni | 157 cm | 79 cm | 84 cm |
| Maratha, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe | 165 cm | 79 cm | 84 cm |
District force:
| Category | Height | Chest unexpanded | Chest expanded |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unreserved, Scheduled Caste and OBC male | 168 cm | 81 cm | 86 cm |
| Scheduled Tribe | 160 cm | 76 cm | 81 cm |
The SAF chest minimum is 79–84 cm. The district-force unreserved, SC and OBC minimum is 81–86 cm. They are not the same standard.

The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take
This is a state-police driver post, not a general constable seat with driving added later. The heavy vehicle licence is an entry condition, and the trade test can remove a candidate after the written exam. SAF and district force also use different chest measurements, so a man who clears the district standard has not automatically cleared the SAF standard.
Best fit: a Madhya Pradesh domicile man, 18 to 33, with Class 10 and a heavy vehicle licence already in hand, who can train for an 800-metre run and is willing to serve outside his home district.
Skip this if you hold only a light motor vehicle licence, you need a home-district posting, or you cannot meet the height and chest row for the unit you will mark. Women are outside this rulebook.
Practical tip: get the heavy vehicle licence and a chest-expansion check done before 15 October 2026. The licence must be valid on 29 October 2026, and the rulebook gives no relaxation on physical standards.
What Documents Are Required?
Carry originals to PET. The rulebook also asks for the upload of a photograph and signature in the portal specification.
- Class 10 or Higher Secondary certificate, or Class 8 for ST candidates, already issued by 29 October 2026
- Valid heavy vehicle driving licence
- Madhya Pradesh domicile certificate where reservation or age relaxation is claimed
- Caste, non-creamy-layer or EWS certificate where claimed. The EWS format annexed to the rulebook uses family income below ₹8 lakh
- Ex-servicemen or Home Guard service certificate where those rows are claimed
- Photo identity card, as listed on the cover
- Aadhaar, because registration is mandatory
- No-objection or permission papers for a serving government employee, and a relieving letter if selected
- For an age-relaxation claim, the prescribed certificate at document verification
What Happens After Selection?
- The merit list is prepared from the written percentile and PET marks, after the trade test and document check. Home Guard rows use PET marks plus service marks.
- Unit allotment is done by the Selection and Recruitment Branch, Police Headquarters, using the home district marked in the form. The rulebook says posting will not be in the home district.
- Medical examination and character verification follow. An adverse character finding can end the selection, including after joining.
- The conduct rules say the department should issue appointment orders within 3 months of the date the Board releases the select list.
- Training pay is 70%, 80% and 90% of the minimum of the scale across the first three years. After that, the scale is ₹19,500–₹62,000, with the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
- The allotted unit must be served for at least 5 years before a transfer to another unit. The candidate must join on the date in the appointment order.
