Vice-President visits INA Museum at Moirang and Sainik School Imphal

RBI launches September inflation and consumer-confidence surveys

GalaxEye gets US patent for OptoSAR satellite imaging

Bengaluru space start-up GalaxEye on 8 September 2026 said it had received a US patent for the core technology behind its OptoSAR imaging system, which synchronises optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors to capture aligned images of the same location at the same time. The company said it is the first Indian start-up to receive a US patent for satellite imaging technology. The same foundational technology already has an Indian patent.

Coal Ministry launches first sector-wide CSR framework; TBSY milestones marked

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy on 8 September 2026 launched the first sector-wide CSR framework for Indian coal companies since statutory CSR under the Companies Act, 2013. The framework was prepared by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. Coal India Limited reported more than 1,050 bone marrow transplants under Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana and 1,500 corrective cardiac surgeries under Nanha Sa Dil. TBSY provides up to ₹10 lakh per patient against a ₹130 crore outlay across four phases.

Rural job demand rises in August under VB-G RAM G

CWMA directs Karnataka to release 6,000 cusecs to Tamil Nadu

The Cauvery Water Management Authority, at its 57th meeting in Delhi on 8 September 2026 under S. K. Haldar, upheld the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee direction that Karnataka ensure 6,000 cusecs a day to Tamil Nadu for 15 days from 8 am on 9 September. The volume is about 7.8 TMC. Tamil Nadu had sought 17,000 cusecs; an earlier direction was 9,000 cusecs. Karnataka said it may approach the Supreme Court.
