What Is the Salary? – UPSC Law Officer & ALC 2026

All four posts are on the 7th CPC pay matrix. Cardiology also draws Non-Practising Allowance because private practice is prohibited. Figures below are illustrative in-hand estimates, not appointment-order numbers. DA is taken at ~55% of basic (current central DA band used for 2026 estimates). HRA is 30% for Delhi (X-class) and 20% for Kanpur (Y-class). NPS-style 10% deduction on basic + DA is assumed only for the net range.

Proof bracket: Gross ≈ basic + DA (~55%) + HRA (30% Delhi / 20% Kanpur) + Transport Allowance. Net ≈ gross minus 10% of (basic + DA) minus CGHS/misc (~₹500–₹1,000). NPA for the Cardiology post is allowed by the notice; the 20% rate is the current central health-service rate and must be confirmed from the appointment order.

How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection is through recruitment by selection. Marks alone do not equal appointment.
