What Posts Are Available? – SBI Vacancy & Eligibility 2026
Both seats sit inside SBI’s IT Risk function: leading risk frameworks, committee reporting, technology-risk reviews and awareness work at GITC-linked departments. Official strength is 2 + 2. The PwBD (Locomotor Disability) backlog of 1 on each post is horizontal and already counted inside the parent category.
Your experience file decides who reaches the interview There is no written test in Advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/22. The Bank’s shortlisting committee sets its own parameters. Interview then carries 100 marks. A weak experience trail can stop you before the interview, even if the degree and year-count look fine on paper.
| Post Name | Vacancies | Qualification | Pay / Tenure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) | 2 (UR); PwBD-LD backlog 1 horizontal | B.E./B.Tech (CS / ECE / IT / Cybersecurity) or MCA / M.Sc (CS/IT) or M.Tech (CS / Cyber Security / Information Security), 50% + 12 yrs IT domain | Up to ₹60.00 lakh CTC; 3 years |
| Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) | 2 (UR); PwBD-LD backlog 1 horizontal | Same degree list, 50% + 9 yrs IT domain | Up to ₹50.00 lakh CTC; 3 years |
Vacancy numbers are provisional and may change with the Bank’s actual requirement. Reserved-category and PwBD candidates for whom no separate vertical quota is shown may still apply against UR seats if they meet UR eligibility.
What Is the Age Limit?
| Post | Minimum | Maximum (UR) | Cut-off date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) | 36 years | 45 years | 31 August 2026 |
| Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) | 32 years | 42 years | 31 August 2026 |
Maximum ages above are for General (UR) candidates. PwBD candidates get upper-age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines. The advertisement does not print a finished category-wise age table, so do not assume a specific extended number until you check the applicable GoI rule for your category.
Examples: ✅ A 44-year-old UR candidate born on 01 September 1981 — eligible for DVP (within the 45-year limit as on 31 August 2026). ❌ A 46-year-old UR candidate born on 31 August 1980 — not eligible for DVP (exceeds the maximum age by 1 year).
Use our Age Eligibility Calculator to check instantly. Use the Experience Calculator to map your IT-domain years to the 31 August 2026 cut-off.
What Is the Remuneration for DVP & AVP IT Risk Roles?
Pay is a negotiated annual CTC, not an IBA officer scale. The advertisement states “Any other Perks – NO.”
| Post | Annual CTC ceiling | Fixed: Variable | Indicative monthly fixed (at ceiling) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) | Up to ₹60.00 lakh | 80: 20 | About ₹4.00 lakh before TDS if fixed pay is ₹48 lakh |
| Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) | Up to ₹50.00 lakh | 80: 20 | About ₹3.33 lakh before TDS if fixed pay is ₹40 lakh |
Final CTC depends on experience, current emoluments and place of posting. Treat the table as a ceiling, not a joining guarantee.
Variable pay is released only if the officer scores at least 90% in the half-yearly appraisal (31 March and 30 September). Below 90%, the variable slice is nil.
| Appraisal score | Variable compensation paid |
|---|---|
| 99–100% | 100% |
| 97–98.99% | 90% |
| 94–96.99% | 80% |
| 90–93.99% | 70% |
| Below 90% | Nil |
From the second year, annual increment can be up to 7% of the negotiated CTC if the appraisal is at least 90%. Increment follows the same 80:20 split.
In-hand take-home after TDS will sit well below gross CTC because this band falls in the highest income-tax slab. Use the Income Tax Calculator for an indicative net figure. The calculator is only an estimate; your actual tax depends on total income from all sources.
What Is the Application Fee?
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| UR / EWS / OBC | ₹750 (non-refundable, includes intimation charges) |
| SC / ST / PwBD | Nil |
Pay online through the gateway on the application form (Internet Banking, debit card or credit card). Bank transaction charges, if any, are extra. The fee, once paid, is not refunded and cannot be adjusted against any other SBI selection. SC/ST/PwBD candidates claiming exemption must hold a valid caste or disability certificate in the Government of India format.
How to Apply?
SBI accepts applications only online. Do not post a hard copy to CRPD.
- Open the SBI current openings page and read Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/22, or go directly to Apply online for SBI DVP & AVP IT Risk 2026 (open until 06 October 2026).
- Keep a live email ID. Call letters go by email only. No hard copy is sent.
- Scan photograph (20–50 KB, about 200×230 px) and signature (10–20 KB, about 140×60 px). Signatures in CAPITAL LETTERS are rejected. Use the Photo & Signature Resizer before upload.
- Fill the form. You may save a draft (registration number + password) and edit it three times. After final submission, edits are closed.
- Upload every listed PDF (max 500 KB, A4): brief resume, ID proof, PAN, educational marksheets and degrees, experience certificates, preferred certificate, Form-16 / offer letter / latest salary slip, NOC if applicable, PwBD certificate if applicable, biodata and CTC format.
- Pay ₹750 if you are UR/EWS/OBC. Print the e-receipt and the system-generated application.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying for both DVP and AVP. The Bank keeps only the last valid completed form.
- Counting classroom or training years as IT-domain experience.
- Uploading a thin experience letter that does not name IT risk, information security or the actual function. The advertisement requires the employer certificate to state the related field.
- Treating CISSP/CRISC/CISM/CISA as mandatory and dropping the form if a certificate is still in process. They are preferred, but they must be valid by 06 October 2026 if you claim them.
- Waiting for a written exam date. This cycle is shortlisting plus an interview unless the Bank later adds a screening test because of a very large turnout.

How Are IT Risk Officers Selected?
No interview date is printed yet. Call letters will come by email or appear on the careers website.
- Online application and document upload on the SBI recruitment link.
- Shortlisting by a Bank committee. Meeting the minimum degree and year count does not create a right to be called.
- Interview (100 marks). Qualifying marks are set by the Bank. No correspondence is entertained on this point.
- Merit list in descending order of interview marks only. If two candidates share the cut-off score, the older candidate ranks higher.
- CTC negotiation with candidates in merit order, at or after the interview. If a selected candidate rejects the negotiated CTC, the Bank treats that as voluntary exit and calls the next name. Negotiation does not change interview rank.
- Final selection of the top merit names with whom CTC is closed, subject to document check, police/character verification and medical fitness.
The advertisement also says that if applications are disproportionately high, the Bank may add a preliminary written or screening test. That test is not scheduled in the current text.
Outstation candidates called for interview are reimbursed travel fare for the shortest route in India or actual fare, whichever is lower, as stated in the call letter. Local taxi or personal-vehicle bills are not paid. A candidate found ineligible at the venue is not reimbursed.
Why Does State Bank of India Matter?
State Bank of India is the country’s largest public sector bank and a core part of India’s banking and insurance sector. Corporate Centre in Mumbai houses group risk, technology and control functions that sit above the branch network.
An IT Risk DVP or AVP in this setup is expected to lead the IT-Risk team, take committee observations, build risk-assessment and risk-appetite frameworks, review technology processes and report key indicators of GITC departments. Daily work is policy, control and stakeholder reporting, not a pure SOC-analyst shift.
Candidates search SBI careers because the brand, balance-sheet size and regulatory exposure are unmatched in Indian banking. The honest limit is the contract itself: three years plus a possible two-year extension, no extra perks, and no line in this advertisement that converts the seat into a regular Specialist Cadre Officer post.
Internal pages that help the next search: State Bank of India organisation hub and Banking & Insurance sector jobs.
The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take
This window is closer to SBI’s other Specialist Cadre Officer contract drives (cyber, risk, leadership institute roles) than to IBPS SO or a regular SBI PO/SO exam. Those exam routes give an IBA scale, NPS and a published vacancy machine. This one buys senior IT-risk judgement on a negotiated CTC, with Mumbai as the likely desk and all-India transfer still on the table.
Best fit: mid-to-senior IT risk or information-security professionals already working in a bank, NBFC, Big Four risk practice or large enterprise GRC team, who hold or can show NIST / ISO 27001 / COBIT / ITIL work and can defend a 9- or 12-year timeline with papers.

Who should walk past this one: graduates hunting a first bank job, candidates who need pensionable regular service, and anyone whose “12 years in IT” is mostly teaching, vendor-training or generic software delivery with no risk or security trail.
Practical tip: Build one PDF pack before you click submit: employer experience certificates that name the function, two recent appraisal letters, Form-16 or latest salary slip, and the Bank’s biodata/CTC format. Shortlisting will read that pack, not your LinkedIn headline.
What Documents Are Required for Bank Specialist Posts?
Upload with the form (PDF unless noted), then carry originals to interview if called:
- Recent passport photograph and signature (JPG/JPEG, size limits above)
- Brief resume
- ID proof and PAN card
- Educational marksheets and degree certificates
- Experience certificates (and/or appraisal letters, engagement plus relieving letters, offer letter plus IT returns)
- Preferred certificate: CISSP / CRISC / CISM / CISA, if claimed
- Form-16 / offer letter / latest salary slip from current employer
- Biodata and CTC format
- Caste certificate in GoI format (for SC/ST fee exemption)
- Disability certificate dated on or before 06 October 2026 (PwBD, 40% or more)
- NOC (SBI Group while applying; other government/PSU/bank staff at interview)
Document alert: the Bank may accept a mix of experience proofs, but a certificate that never mentions IT risk, information security or the claimed function is a live rejection risk at interview.
Service Conditions
- Contract: 3 years. Further extension up to 2 years is possible after yearly review. Total stated span does not go beyond that extension clause.
- Exit: 3 months’ notice from either side, or payment/surrender of 3 months’ compensation.
- Leave: 30 days in a financial year, granted for genuine reasons.
- Place of work: Mumbai / Navi Mumbai suggested; the Bank may post, transfer or depute the officer to any SBI office, associate or subsidiary in India.
- Conduct and medical fitness: engagement is subject to Bank medical standards and conduct rules in force at joining.
- Variable pay and increment: as in the remuneration section; both need a 90% appraisal floor.
- No other perks are listed.
- Courts: Mumbai only.
What Happens After Selection?
- The Bank publishes or emails the interview result and opens CTC talks in merit order.
- After CTC is accepted, you complete document verification against the originals already described in the form.
- Character check and disclosure of any pending criminal case follow. The Bank may pull police records and can deny engagement on that basis.
- Medical fitness is completed as per SBI rules for the post.
- Serving employees produce a discharge/relieving letter at joining. Government and PSU staff who skipped NOC at interview can lose both the seat and travel reimbursement.
- You join as an Officer Engaged on Contract for three years, report to the IT Risk function, and enter the half-yearly 90% appraisal cycle that unlocks variable pay.
Typical SBI SCO contract cycles take several weeks to a few months from interview to joining. This advertisement does not print a joining month.

FAQs – DVP & AVP IT Risk Recruitment 2026
What is the last date to apply for SBI DVP and AVP IT Risk 2026?
06 October 2026. Online registration and fee payment close on that date. No extension is printed in Advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/22 as of 20 September 2026. Submit before the portal slows down on the last evening.
What is the age limit for SBI DVP and AVP IT Risk posts?
DVP: 36–45 years. AVP: 32–42 years. Both are counted as of 31 August 2026. Those figures are for UR candidates. PwBD relaxation follows Government of India guidelines. The PDF does not print a finished OBC/SC/ST maximum-age table.
Is there an exam for SBI DVP and AVP IT Risk, or is it interview-based?
No written exam is listed now. Selection is shortlisting, then a 100-mark interview, then CTC negotiation. If applications surge, the Bank may add a screening test. Merit is based on interview marks only. An older candidate wins a tie at the cut-off.
What is the salary of an SBI DVP or AVP IT Risk officer?
DVP CTC is capped at ₹60.00 lakh a year and AVP at ₹50.00 lakh, split 80% fixed and 20% variable. The figure is negotiable. There are no extra perks. Variable pay requires a 90% half-yearly appraisal. Tax will cut take-home pay below the headline CTC.
Can final-year students or result-awaited candidates apply for SBI SCO 2026?
No. The degree, 50% marks and the 9- or 12-year IT-domain count must stand as on 31 August 2026. A course still in progress on that date does not meet the advertisement. Preferred security certificates, if claimed, must be valid by 06 October 2026.
Is SBI DVP or AVP IT Risk a permanent government job?
No. This is a contractual engagement for 3 years, extendable by up to 2 years after yearly review. Either side may exit with 3 months’ notice or equivalent compensation. The advertisement does not promise absorption into regular SBI officer service.
Can candidates from other states apply for this SBI recruitment?
Yes. This is an all-India engagement for Indian citizens. No state domicile filter is written. Suggested posts are Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, but the Bank can post or depute you to any SBI office or subsidiary in India.
Where will I be posted if selected for SBI IT Risk?
The suggested place of posting is Mumbai or Navi Mumbai. That line is only indicative. The transfer policy in the same PDF lets SBI move the officer anywhere in India or to an associate. Do not treat this as a locked Mumbai-only contract.
Is there a bond if I leave the SBI IT Risk contract early?
There is no separate training-bond amount printed. Exit is 3 months’ notice from either side, or payment or surrender of 3 months’ compensation. Plan the notice before you resign from your current job. Local courts for disputes are in Mumbai only.
Do I need CISSP or CISA to apply?
No. CISSP, CRISC, CISM and CISA are preferred, not mandatory. The hard filters are the listed degree with 50% marks and 9 or 12 years in the IT domain. If you do claim a certificate, it must still be valid on or before 06 October 2026.
What are the disadvantages of this SBI IT Risk contract?
The honest downside is the package shape: high headline CTC, no listed perks, variable pay that can fall to zero below a 90% appraisal, and no regular-cadre promise. You also cannot sit both posts. If you want IBA scale and NPS, wait for a regular SO drive.
How should I prepare for the SBI IT Risk interview?
Carry proof, not slogans. Be ready to walk through NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT or ITIL work you actually owned, incident-response or BCP examples, and committee-style reporting. Interview marks alone build the merit list. CTC talk comes after rank, not before.
Is specialist cadre officer pay in public sector banks always an IBA scale?
No. Regular SBI or IBPS Specialist Officer posts usually follow IBA scales. This advertisement is different: a negotiated contractual CTC with an 80:20 split and a 90% appraisal gate on the variable slice. Compare the two routes before you resign a stable scale job.
Final Checklist – Is This the Right Job for You?
- You meet the age and educational criteria as of 31 August 2026.
- You are comfortable with a 3-year contractual engagement (extendable up to 2 years), not a regular SBI officer post.
- You can upload experience proof, Form-16/salary slip, degree papers and the CTC format before 06 October 2026.
- You are prepared for the hardest stage: committee shortlisting plus a 100-mark interview.
- You accept Mumbai / Navi Mumbai as the likely desk and an all-India transfer later.
- You have read the 3-month notice clause and the 90% appraisal rule for variable pay.
