This window is a mixed-cadre drive, not a single-post clerk paper. Clerk (Accounts) alone has 34 seats. Clerk (Legal) has 13, Clerk (I.T.) 11, Translator 6, Driver 5 and Field Artist 1. Clerk (Accounts) is the volume post (34 of 70). Clerk (Legal) and Clerk (I.T.) are the next largest blocks. Driver, Translator and Field Artist are small, department-specific seats. A candidate with one qualification should not assume she can tick every clerk label. Accounts, Legal and I.T. are separate requisitions with different degrees.

Departments may increase, reduce or withdraw seats at any stage. Treat Annexure A as the current requisition, not a frozen guarantee.

Eligibility notes that change the form you fill

• Clerk (Accounts) is two different degrees. Employment Generation wants a graduate with at least one of Statistics, Mathematics or Accounts. Excise Field Offices want a Commerce degree. Do not treat them as interchangeable.
• Clerk (I.T.) is three different degree lists. Excise Head Office, Labour Commissioner and Civil Aviation each print their own combination. Civil Aviation also prints 50% marks and, on the BCA route, two years’ ICT experience.
• Translator needs a computer course. It does not need the clerk typing test.
• Field Artist is Music / Drama / Dance only. A Fine Arts or Graphic Design degree is not the wording in this advertisement.
• Driver needs both light and heavy vehicle licences, plus three years’ driving experience. A two-wheeler licence does not meet the printed requirement.

What Is the Clerk Salary in Punjab?

The advertisement prints initial pay, not a full in-hand slip. Allowances follow Punjab Finance Department letters No. 7/204/2012-4FP1/66-72 dated 15 January 2015 and No. 07/204/2015-4FP1/853793 dated 04 October 2016, and later instructions.

Illustrative in-hand (not an official figure): For an initial basic of ₹19,900, adding current-style DA around 55% of basic plus HRA (10–20% of basic in most Punjab towns; 30% only in the eight X-class cities) and standard transport / other allowances produces a gross band near ₹35,000–₹42,000. After employee NPS-style deduction (if the allotted department applies it) and minor insurances, take-home often lands near ₹31,000–₹38,000/month. Driver Level-3 (basic ₹21,700) sits a step higher. Field Artist Level-4 (basic ₹25,500) sits higher still, near ₹38,000–₹45,000 on the same assumptions.

Confirm DA, HRA city class and deductions from the appointment order. Pension / NPS coverage is not specified in this notice.

What Is the Application Fee?

The fee is paid online inside the same form, through the Make Payment step. The notice says that a fee once paid will not be refunded in any situation. No category is given a fee waiver. An unpaid form is treated as incomplete and rejected from the start.

How to Apply?

Applications are accepted only online from 25 September 2026 to 19 October 2026. Any other mode is rejected.

1. Open the PSSSB official website (open until 19 October 2026) and click Apply Online.
2. If you have no User ID, click Registration. Your registered email becomes the User ID. Save the password.
3. Log in and fill in personal, educational and category details. Category code must match Annexure A for the post you want.
4. Upload a passport-size photograph or capture a live photo, plus a scanned signature. Forms without a photo and signature are rejected.
5. Use Photo & Signature Resizer so the files meet the portal size requirements before you upload.
6. Open Attach Annexure. Upload PDF scans of the Matric certificate, the qualifying degree/licence/computer course, domicile/residence certificate, and caste / ESM / PwBD / Sports certificates where claimed.
7. Click Save Documents, then Make Payment, then Submit. Only a form with successful fee payment is accepted.
8. Print the submitted application. Incomplete drafts stay under Menu → View Status of Application → View Incomplete Application until you finish.

Serving Central or State employees should be ready to produce NOC through proper channel. The notice treats non-receipt through proper channel as a rejection ground. That is readiness at counselling / later stages, not a pre-upload file in every case.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1. Submitting the wrong category code. Codes cannot be edited later. A code with zero seats for that post is a stated rejection ground.
2. Treating all “Clerk” seats as one form. Legal, Accounts and I.T. have different degrees. Accounts itself splits B.Com versus graduate-with-Stats/Maths/Accounts.
3. Skipping Punjabi Matric proof. Rule 17 applies to every post, including Driver and Field Artist.
4. Paying the fee after a failed transaction and assuming the form is in. A failed transaction means the application is not deposited. The earlier debit is still non-refundable.
5. Waiting for a correction window. This advertisement says no change is allowed after Submit, and no later request will be accepted.

How Are Candidates Selected?

No interview stage is mentioned in Advertisement No. 12 of 2026. Selection is written-exam merit, plus a qualifying typing test for clerk posts, then counselling and document verification.

Driver, Translator and Field Artist

1. Online application and fee.
2. Objective MCQ written exam in two parts.
3. Part-A: Matric-level Punjabi paper, qualifying only. Minimum 50% required.
4. Part-B: Merit paper. Each question carries 1 mark. 1/4 mark deducted for every wrong answer.
5. Merit list from Part-B marks only.
6. Counselling/document verification in numbers decided by the Board against category-wise seats.
7. Names of fully eligible candidates recommended to the indenting department against the live vacancy count at that time.

Clerk (Legal), Clerk (Accounts) and Clerk (I.T.)

1. Online application and fee.
2. Same two-part MCQ written exam (Part-A Punjabi qualifying at 50%; Part-B merit with 1/4 negative marking).
3. Candidates called by the competent authority take a computer typing test at 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi. Punjabi typing is in Unicode-compliant Raavi font.
4. Typing is qualifying only. You must pass it.
5. A common merit list is drawn from Part-B marks of candidates who have passed the typing test.
6. Counselling/document verification.
7. Recommendation to the department. For Clerk (Legal) and Clerk (I.T.), department preference is taken later.

Appearing in the exam, featuring in a merit list, or being called for counselling does not create a right to recommendation. Eligibility must still be proved with originals.

They also search department names (Excise clerk Punjab, Labour Department translator) once they realise seats are split across offices, not pooled in one secretariat.

The honest limit is scale and speed. Seventy seats spread over 14 department-post rows will not absorb every law or commerce graduate in the state. Exam dates are still blank. Department preference for Legal and I.T. comes after the paper, so you cannot lock a favourite office at apply time. This is a Punjab Group-C mix, not an HSSC CET dump and not a PPSC officer paper. The candidate who already has Advt. 02/2026 Clerk or a Haryana Group-C tab open should treat Advt. 12 of 2026 as a separate qualification-gated list: Accounts 34, Legal 13, I.T. 11, plus three small specialist rows. Neighbouring-state Group-C drives ask for a generic graduate more often. Here the degree must match the department’s printed subject.

Best fit: Punjab-domiciled LLB, B.Com / stats-maths-accounts graduates, and computer-degree holders who can already type 30 wpm in English and Punjabi (Raavi). A Matric-pass driver with both LMV and HMV licences and three documented years is looking at five Rural Development seats, three of them in the women’s column.

Skip this if: you still have an exam to clear after 19 October 2026, you cannot show Punjabi at Matric, you hold a Fine Arts degree and hoped Field Artist would stretch to graphic design, or you want an interview-heavy selection. This notice builds rank from Part-B plus a qualifying type test.

What Happens After Selection?

1. PSSSB publishes the Part-B merit list (and, for clerks, only after typing is cleared) on sssb.punjab.gov.in. No personal letter goes out.
2. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling in numbers the Board decides, against the live category-wise count.
3. You place originals of education, Punjabi Matric, domicile, category, licence / computer course and photo-ID on the table. Missing papers drop you; the next name moves up.
4. Clerk (Legal) and Clerk (I.T.) candidates give department preference at this later stage, not in the application form.
5. The Board recommends successful names to the indenting department. Recommendation is not appointment.
