Why Does PSSSB Matter?
Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board is the primary recruiting body for Group-B, Group-C and Group-D posts in various departments of the Punjab Government. It conducts transparent written examinations and maintains a common cadre system for many support-level posts.
Candidates search for PSSSB Group D because it offers permanent state-government employment with Level-1 pay, regular increments, NPS benefits and job security that private-sector Class-IV roles rarely match. The catch is high competition for limited pure office posts and the mandatory Punjabi language qualifying paper, which many candidates underestimate.
The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take
Compared with the previous PSSSB Group-D cycle (Advt 08/2025, ~400 posts) and similar drives in neighbouring Haryana, this 1401-post re-open is significantly larger and gives a second chance to those who missed the February–March window.
Best fit: 10th-pass Punjab domicile candidates, especially those comfortable with field, animal-care or sanitation duties, and women candidates who can utilise the substantial women reservation.
Who should skip: Candidates who struggle with Punjabi language (the 50% qualifying bar is strict), those unwilling to accept possible rural or field postings, and applicants expecting purely desk-based work — the bulk of vacancies are operational.

Practical tip: Treat the Punjabi qualifying paper as seriously as the main paper. Many candidates clear Part-B but fail Part-A and drop out of the merit list.

- Photo ID (Aadhaar / Voter ID)
- Recent passport-size photograph and signature

What Happens After Selection?
- Board prepares merit list on the basis of written exam (Part-B).
- Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification/counselling.
- Medical fitness examination is conducted.
- Names are recommended to the concerned department against available vacancies and category.
- The department issues an appointment letter.
