Pay follows the 7th Central Pay Commission. Direct-recruitment posts are regular institute posts with probation. Allowances (DA, HRA, Transport Allowance) follow Central Government rates applicable to NIF as a DST autonomous body.

How Are Candidates Selected?

Selection is a multi-step process. Marks on a degree certificate do not by themselves produce an appointment.

1. Online applications are scrutinised against essential qualifications, experience, age and documents.
2. Eligible candidates are called for a written examination conducted by NIF, or by a Central Government agency, or by another body with examination experience.
3. A merit list is drawn from written-examination performance as per the NIF Recruitment Rules, 2026.
