No written exam is printed for this drive. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a body corporate under the Ministry of Power, has invited applications for 5 contractual seats: 4 Sector Experts and 1 Project Engineer. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interaction.
The seats are in Standards & Labelling (S&L), ADEETIE, ECSBC/Buildings, Artificial Intelligence, and National Exam Coordinator (NECA). Work is with BEE at Sewa Bhawan, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. Sector Expert pay is ₹1,00,000 a month. Project Engineer pay is ₹60,000 a month. Both figures are printed as monthly remuneration.

- B.E./B.Tech/B. Arch (60%) + the same energy or environment PG, with 5 years on ECBC, building energy simulation or green-building ratings → Sector Expert (ECSBC/Buildings) – 1 post. ECBC Master Trainer, CMVP, and IGBC/LEED/GRIHA certificates are preferred.

The notice says “allied discipline” without a list. If your degree is outside the named subjects, get written confirmation from BEE before applying.
- B.E./B.Tech (60%) + at least 1 year in conducting examinations and in energy management or auditing → Project Engineer (NECA) – 1 post. A valid GATE score, BEE Certified Energy Auditor/Manager, and a relevant master’s are preferences, not gates.
Mandatory vs preferred
Sector Expert: the bachelor’s at 60% (or equivalent grade) and the named postgraduate degree are both essential. Auditor, ECBC, CMVP and green-building certificates are preferred.
Project Engineer: the essential bar is B.E./B.Tech at 60% (or equivalent grade) plus 1 year of the named experience. GATE, the auditor certificate, and the master’s are desirable.
No category-wise reservation breakup is printed. The circular does not print a state domicile bar. Age and experience are reckoned as on the closing date, 17 November 2026. What Is the Application Fee?
The vacancy circular does not mention an application fee. It also does not mention a payment portal or a category exemption.
How to Apply?
- Read the BEE Project Engineer and Sector Expert vacancy circular and pick one named post. Annexure-I has a blank “Proforma for the post of”.
- Fill Annexure-I in block letters. State whether you meet the essential qualifications. For an auditor or manager certificate, write the certificate number and year.
- Attach a detailed CV, two passport photographs, self-attested education certificates, domain experience certificates, and BEE auditor/manager or score cards if they apply to you.
- In the duties column, name the matching area: Industry, ECSBC/Building, ADEETIE, S&L, Artificial Intelligence with an energy focus, or NECA. The proforma asks for this.
- Forward the set to the Secretary, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, 4th Floor, Sewa Bhawan, R.K. Puram, Sector-1, New Delhi – 110066, so that it is received on or before 17 November 2026.

There is no photo-upload step, so no resizer applies. Suggested, not printed: write the post and division on the envelope, and do not rely on a last-day dispatch.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Treating 17 November 2026 as a postmark date. The circular says applications received after the closing date are liable to be rejected.
- Leaving the post line blank, or sending one form for two divisions. The proforma is for a named post.
- Using a Sector Expert form with only a bachelor’s degree. The master’s is essential for those four seats.
- Sending a CV without domain experience certificates. Those certificates are listed as enclosures.
- Treating a BEE auditor certificate or a GATE score as a pass-fail gate. Both are desirable. For Project Engineer, the master’s is also only desirable.

How Are Candidates Selected?
BEE selects these 5 seats by shortlisting, then a personal interaction. No written exam, no negative marking and no syllabus are printed. The terms also say mere eligibility does not confer a right to be called for interview, and that shortlisting criteria will be applied uniformly.
The Screening/Interview Committee may, in exceptional cases of outstanding overall merit, consider a deviation from the prescribed criteria. That deviation must be recorded with reasons and ratified by the Competent Authority. This is an exception clause, not a general waiver.
No interview date is printed. The interaction is the only selection stage named after shortlisting.
The SahisarkariJobs.in Analyst’s Take
This is a small Delhi contractual intake inside an energy-efficiency body, not a Ministry of Power cadre exam. The closest choice a candidate is weighing is a regular technical post under a separate BEE advertisement. That other notice is a different recruitment. This circular pays a fixed ₹1,00,000 or ₹60,000 and ends in a personal interaction.
Best fit: an engineer who already has the named domain years, can show certificates, and wants a New Delhi energy-efficiency contract. The Buildings seat suits someone with ECBC or simulation work. The AI seat suits someone who has used data analytics on energy problems, not a general software profile alone.
Skip this if you need a regular post, a pension line, or a fixed multi-year tenure in the appointment letter. None of those is printed here. A fresh B.E./B.Tech holder also misses four of the five seats on the 5-year bar.

Practical tip: On Annexure-I, write the division in the post line, for example “Sector Expert (ECSBC/Buildings)”, and match the duties column to that same area. A generic energy CV sent against the wrong division is the easiest way to miss a 1-seat shortlist.
What Documents Are Required?
The proforma lists these enclosures:
- Detailed CV
- Two passport-size photographs
- Self-attested copies of educational certificates
- Domain experience certificates
- BEE Auditor/Manager certificate or valid score cards, if applicable
- Annexure-I, with employment in chronological order and present emoluments
Document alert: the duties column asks you to mark Industry, ECSBC/Building, ADEETIE, S&L, Artificial Intelligence with an energy focus, or NECA. A certificate that does not show that area is weak support for a 5-year domain claim.
Service Conditions
- Engagement is purely contractual and co-terminus. It will not confer any right to regularisation in BEE or the Government of India.
- Annual renewal will be considered based on satisfactory performance. The circular does not print the initial contract length.
- Age and experience are reckoned as on 17 November 2026.
- A probation period, bond, notice period and posting outside New Delhi are not printed.
What Happens After Selection?
- Shortlisted candidates are called for personal interaction. The place and date are not printed.
- Selection is through that interaction after shortlisting. The circular does not print marks or a tie-break rule.
- The selected person is engaged on contract. The offer’s tenure and station will be in the engagement order. This notice only names BEE, New Delhi, and co-terminus contractual terms.
- Renewal for a further year is considered on satisfactory performance. It is not stated as automatic.

FAQs – BEE Project Engineer 2026
What is the last date to apply for BEE Sector Expert 2026?
17 November 2026. The circular also says within 45 days of publication in Employment News, on or before that date. Applications received after the closing date are liable to be rejected. No extension is printed on the BEE careers page as of 06 October 2026.
What is the age limit for BEE Sector Expert and Project Engineer?
35 years for Sector Expert and 30 years for Project Engineer, reckoned as on 17 November 2026. The circular does not print category-wise relaxation. Use the printed cap for your post.
Is there an exam for these BEE posts, or is it interview-based?
No written exam is mentioned. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interaction. The terms also call this an interview. Eligibility alone does not mean you will be called. No date is announced.
What is the salary of a BEE Sector Expert?
₹1,00,000 per month for Sector Expert and ₹60,000 per month for Project Engineer, as printed. DA, HRA and a pay level are not printed. Tax depends on your total income. These figures are remuneration, not a confirmed in-hand salary.
Can final-year students apply for BEE recruitment 2026?
The circular does not say final-year students may apply. Age and experience are reckoned as on 17 November 2026, and the essential qualification has to be met for the post you name. A candidate still waiting for an essential degree should not assume eligibility. For Project Engineer, the master’s is only desirable.
Is BEE Sector Expert a permanent government job?
No. The circular says the engagement is contractual and co-terminus, and will not confer any right to regularisation in BEE or the Government of India. Annual renewal is considered on satisfactory performance. The notice does not use the phrase “permanent government job”.
Can candidates from other states apply for BEE recruitment?
Yes, as this circular states. No state domicile bar is printed. It also does not print a separate citizenship line. The office named is in New Delhi.
Where will I be posted if I get selected?
At the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Sewa Bhawan, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. Other stations and a transfer rule are not printed. Confirm the station in the engagement order.
Is GATE required for the BEE Project Engineer post?
No. A valid GATE score is a preference for Project Engineer (NECA) only. It is not an essential condition, and it is not mentioned for the Sector Expert seats.
What should I know before applying?
The honest downside is the contractual term. There is no right to regularisation, the initial month-count is not printed, and renewal depends on satisfactory performance. Each division has only one seat, so the domain certificate has to match that division.
Pre-Contract Checklist – Before You Apply
- You meet the age cap as on 17 November 2026: 35 years for Sector Expert, 30 years for Project Engineer.

- You have domain experience certificates ready, and the essential degree is already completed.
